A bug in Call of Duty Warzone 2 causes players to sometimes land in a squad of five or six. The large groups have a huge advantage in Al Mazrah and Ashika Island, of course, and the community is frustrated.
What kind of glitch is this? Normally, players start solo, as a duo, trio, or squad in the Warzone. However, there was also an exception to this rule: With the launch of the new Call of Duty, the “Unhinged” mode was added, which allows you to recruit additional operators into your team during a match.
However, with the start of Season 2, this game mode was removed. Nevertheless, some players are currently reporting that they are sometimes landing in a group of five or six. A Reddit user posted a photo of his team showing how 5 players are in his 4-man team.
The community has since speculated on how this bug could have occurred and whether it is even a bug at all. Many players are frustrated because of this glitch and other bugs. Up to now, the developers have not provided any explanation for this phenomenon.
With the first major update to Warzone 2, there were many new contents. You can find all features of Season 2 here in the trailer:
Team sizes going crazy – Up to 8 players in a 4-man team
What does that look like? Since the developers have remained silent about the incidents so far, the rumor mill is running rampant. Shortly after the Reddit thread was created, recordings from a stream started circulating.
These show the content creator “TheTacticalBrit” attempting the Nuke Challenge. To his great surprise, there were 2 additional players in his 4-man team right at the start of the match. How this group composition came about is something even the Warzone streamer could not explain. However, he took advantage of it and won the Warzone round with ease.
In the short cutscene that shows the winners at the end of the match, 6 operators can also be seen. In the credits, you can even make out groups of up to 8 players.
If you want to see it all yourself on YouTube, you can find the start of the match at timestamp 3:41:10 and the end at 4:04:40. In the comments of the stream, many viewers suspect that there is an error in matchmaking and that the game applies rules that apply to DMZ to Warzone as well.
