In Call of Duty Warzone 2 is hardly anything as important as good sound. By choosing the right settings, you can better locate your opponents and react faster – small optimizations can make the difference between victory and defeat. MeinMMO explains what you need to pay attention to.
In Call of Duty, there are plenty of different settings that can influence your gaming experience. Adjustments to the sound are among the most important changes you should make. Just a few tweaks will allow you to notice your opponents earlier.
Fights often take place in urban terrain both in Al Mazrah and on Ashika Island, whether in Warzone or DMZ. Often, you hear the opponents before you see them. Enemy footsteps make a very specific, dull sound that often gets lost in the audio backdrop. Therefore, all adjustments you make to the sound should aim to improve the playback of the low-frequency range.
Since hearing and perception differ among individuals, you should use our suggestions as starting points and fine-tune them according to your preferences.
With these audio settings, you will always have the upper hand in battle royale
One thing to say first: no matter if you play on PC or feel at home on the console, we recommend using a headset. If you don’t have a headset yet but are considering buying one, you can check here: The best gaming headsets you can buy in 2023
Even if your TV or computer monitor has good speakers, they can’t compete with a decent headset. Generally, the closer the audio source is to your ears, the better.
The respective values you find in the table are merely guidelines. You can adjust them according to your preferences. However, we recommend that particularly for audio options where we have provided a range, you should only drop below the lowest settings in exceptional cases.

The individual audio options in detail
You should choose the audio mix “Headphone Bass Boost” regardless of whether you actually play with a headset or not. Of all options, this mix reproduces the low frequencies, including gunshots and especially footsteps, the best. It’s no wonder that almost all professionals are convinced of this.
The music and dialogue volume can be reduced without concern. Both settings add some depth to the campaign, but in Warzone or DMZ, they disturb more than they help. However, don’t set the dialogue volume too low, or you might miss the announcement of an enemy UAV, for example. A value of 25 seems to be a good compromise.
If you set your hit sounds to a too low value, you may miss auditory feedback during the fight. Conversely, too loud effects can disturb your concentration. This is particularly annoying if, for example, a rustling bush distracts you from an approaching enemy.
You can adjust the volume of the voice chat according to your preferences. What is important is that you can hear your teammates clearly. If they are too quiet, adjust your settings accordingly. Regardless, we recommend activating the proximity chat. This setting allows you to eavesdrop on your opponents’ communication as long as they are nearby. With a bit of luck, you can surprise them this way. But be careful! Conversely, this allows your opponents to track your communication as well.
Finally, it is advisable to activate the tinnitus sound suppression. Once activated, it reduces the auditory signals of flashbang and stun grenades. You will be better aware of enemy movement, and in the best-case scenario, you can turn a delicate situation to your advantage.
