Call of Duty Warzone 2 has brought back Rebirth Island, but with a new map and changes that you should know before your start on the island. We show you everything about the new mode and explain what has changed.
What is the Rebirth mode? Rebirth is one of the most popular modes in Warzone 1. You will be dropped into a smaller map and can fight against opponents with your squad like in Battle Royale and loot the location. If one of your teammates is eliminated, they are not totally out of the game but can re-enter after a timer expires. The last team standing wins.
This mode has now made its way into Warzone 2 thanks to Season 2. Therefore, we show you what changes the mode has and list what the developers say about the mode.
You will be reborn on Ashika Island – This is what the mode can do
What can the mode do in Warzone 2? In Warzone 2, there is a new Rebirth Island, called Ashika Island. This island is inspired by Japan and features the architecture of many traditional buildings from the Asian region.
The mode can be started solo or with up to four other players. You can also find a party if you don’t feel like playing alone. However, note that as a solo player, you are immediately out if you are killed.
If you now have a squad and have started a round, you just have to survive. If one of your teammates is finally killed, they have the chance to re-enter the game, provided a member of your team is still alive.
To let your teammates re-enter the game as quickly as possible, you must reduce their respawn timer. You can do this by earning points in the form of headshots, kills, or armor that has been destroyed by opponents.

- Eliminate an A.I. opponent

- Capture a “Data Heist” point

- Move 25 meters while your teammate is dead

- Eliminate two opponents while the hunting mechanism is active

- Eliminate more than three opponents while the hunting mechanism is active
- Armor break
- Break all armor pieces of your opponent
- Daring elimination
- Eliminate an opponent while a teammate is down
- Fearless elimination
- Eliminate an opponent while you are the last surviving player in your team
The last team that survived has won. However, Activision has also integrated some innovations into the mode that old-timers among you should already be familiar with.
What differences are there to Warzone 1? The Rebirth Island in Warzone 2 has, as already mentioned, also received updates. These include:
- Re-entry is only possible until zone 4, after which every subsequent death is final
- New hunting mechanism
- Enemy teammates are shown on the minimap for seconds when your team scores a kill
- There are A.I. opponents but only in special missions
- New honor mechanism
- Every player leaves a token upon death, which can be picked up by any player
- Enemy tokens reward you with a little cash and a single radar ping that marks nearby enemies as well as supply drops when collected
- Tokens from you or teammates reward you with a 50-meter loot ping as well as a normal 300-meter radar ping and an additional $1000.
- Note that cash loot is only paid out once per match, while the radar is always activated
- Every player leaves a token upon death, which can be picked up by any player
