Call of Duty: Vanguard will bring some exclusive bonuses for players on PS4 and PS5. It is now clear what these bonuses will be.
In October, CoD Vanguard announced that, like in the past, there would again be exclusive bonuses for players on PS4 and PS5 in the new installment of the Call of Duty series.
So far, it was not known what kind of bonuses would be offered this time. Now a post on the PlayStation Blog has shed light on the matter (via PlayStation Blog).
These bonuses are available on PlayStation: Currently, there are said to be 5 bonuses that PS players can expect.
- Players who purchase the Battle Pass Bundle will receive 5 additional free tiers. In total, PlayStation players will therefore receive 25 instead of the 20 tier skips.
- PlayStation Plus members receive a free bundle at the launch of the first season of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone. This bundle will include a new Operator skin, a weapon blueprint, and more. Furthermore, a new bundle is expected to be added with each season in Vanguard.
- PlayStation players who play together in parties will receive a +25% bonus weapon XP.
- There will be monthly double XP events, each lasting 24 hours.
- Additionally, PlayStation players will receive two extra loadout slots.
Exclusive content regularly causes controversy in the community
This is what the bonuses mean: The bonuses for CoD Vanguard resemble those that PlayStation players received in Black Ops Cold War. Back then, the bonus XP in parties and during events, as well as the extra slots and Battle Pass skips were also part of it.
PlayStation players therefore have a few advantages regarding progression in the game. Additionally, there are free extra cosmetics per season this time.
At least there is no special mode this year that only Sony players receive. This was the case with Cold War, which had the extra zombie mode “Onslaught” on PlayStation.
Nevertheless, PlayStation players can look forward to some bonuses that are not available on PC or Xbox. And last time, this did not go down well.
Unpopular exclusive content: When CoD: Black Ops Cold War announced its bonuses, it caused an uproar among players who were upset about the exclusive content. This was not only the case for the “excluded” – many PlayStation players also expressed their displeasure about the inequality at this point.
Even with the announcement that Vanguard will receive exclusive bonuses, many called it “unfair.”
Overall, exclusive content regularly causes frustration. This is not only the case with Call of Duty.
There were also major discussions regarding Marvel’s Avengers, which promised Spider-Man as exclusive content.
How the new announcement regarding CoD: Vanguard is received remains to be seen. From a fundamental content perspective, such as modes, the game will be the same across all platforms this year.
The release of Vanguard is now just around the corner. On November 5, 2021, the new Call of Duty will launch.
