The new Zombie mode for Call of Duty: Vanguard has been revealed. In a new trailer, the shooter showcased its creepy undead – and special powers to defeat them.
What was shown: The new Zombie mode features the summoning of undead monsters, with talk of the “Army of the Dead”. We see the “Hotel Royal” map, which some of you may already know from the CoD Vanguard beta.
A group of players is attacked by the undead before heading out into the open field. There, a large skirmish develops between soldiers and zombies, who even carry a whole range of weapons with them. For example, a zombie is running around with a mini-gun!
But see for yourselves:
The trailer also shows that soldiers must not only rely on familiar firearms to face the zombie plague.
They can also draw on the so-called “Dark Aether” skills to gain an advantage. For example, they can summon fire rings to hold back the zombies.

Finally, we see a general rise dramatically over a mountain of fallen bodies and raise his hands to resurrect the deceased as zombies.
Afterwards, a kind of giant zombie leader also emerges from a portal. It appears: the zombie plague may not be so easy to defeat.

Zombie trailer is well received
This is how the community reacts: After the trailer went online, it generated over 140,000 views within half an hour. The like ratio is also quite positive with 24,454 upvotes to 740 downvotes at first glance (as of October 14, 5:30 PM).
In the comments, players also show that they are looking forward to the new zombie mode:
- “This literally gave me zombie army vibes – goosebumps,” writes user Neel the Wiz (via YouTube).
- “I already know that when the big guy with the mini-gun spawns, I’m running away. Looks great, can’t wait,” says Leonidas I (via YouTube).
- “Honestly, I’m hyped. The graphics and look are awesome,” thinks user Austin A. (via YouTube).
Some criticism is given for the music selection. Some players apparently hoped for something “more zombie-like” here.
Additionally, some players wish to be able to play a number of characters in the mode that have a direct connection to the zombie story – instead of familiar operators.
How the zombie mode ultimately shapes up will likely become clear by the launch of CoD Vanguard. You can learn everything about the release of the new Call of Duty here.
