CoD Vanguard receives a new map hub for the Zombie mode called “Terra Maledicta.” It also brings back Wonder Weapons that allow you to effectively take down the zombie hordes.
What are Wonder Weapons? Wonder Weapons are special items noted for their powerful stats and effects, granting players an advantage against the endless hordes of the undead in CoD’s Zombie modes.
Wonder Weapons are iconic items that every zombie fan loves. Players were particularly disappointed with Vanguard because no Wonder Weapons appeared in its Zombie mode, despite the involvement of the original zombie creators from Treyarch.
But now, with Season 2, a new map and two Wonder Weapons have been added to the game. The famous Ray Gun and the brand new “Decimator Shield,” which is called Decimator Shield in the game.
Where can you find which weapons? The Ray Gun can be found as a drop and inside the boxes on both Zombie maps. The Shield, on the other hand, is an Easter egg that can only be found in the new map “Terra Maledicta.”
The Ray Gun – What it can do and where to find it?
What can the Ray Gun do? The Ray Gun is a futuristic ray weapon that deals significant damage and can hit multiple zombies at once. However, it falls a bit short of its capabilities in Vanguard. Nonetheless, it is a powerful weapon with a cool design.
Where can you find it in “The Beginning” and “Terra Maledicta”? You can draw the weapon from the Mystery Box by chance, but this can take a long time and is not recommended. Additionally, you waste valuable resources that you could use for your perks.
To obtain the Ray Gun quickly and reliably, you first need to fully open the map. Complete the first three missions. Then simply run up and down the map and open all the boxes and crystals you find. The chance of getting a Ray Gun this way is quite high.
Also, note that special zombies, like the heavily armed “Storm Warriors,” sometimes drop a Ray Gun. So if you see any, take them down. It might be worth it.
The Decimator Shield – What it can do and where to find it?
What can the Shield do? The eerie Decimator Shield is a kind of living weapon. For the first time, you can block with it and protect yourself from damage. Additionally, the Shield can release a shockwave that massively damages all zombies in the vicinity. But be aware of the high cooldown for this ability.
Where can you find it in “Terra Maledicta”? The Shield is not simply available as loot or box content. Instead, you need to unlock it through an elaborate Easter egg hunt. Do the following:
- Go east and complete the mission there to unlock the area beyond. You will then see the Shield, but it is trapped in crystals.
- Then go north and complete the mission there. You will now be deemed worthy to carry the Shield. But there’s still much to do.
- Next, go to the tents by the green well. There you will find a talking stone that tells you some lore about the Shield.
- A new portal will then open; use it and complete the mission.
- Then search the hub for four crystals that you will shoot down.
- Look for the talking stone near the Bazaar and the yellow well.
- An additional portal will open, and there you will face a boss fight against Zaballa.
- If you survive the battle, you can finally use the Decimator Shield upon your return.
