If you find the weapons in “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” visually boring, you can rely on the numerous skins the game offers. However, not all of them are easy to obtain. To create a particularly annoying challenge, which upon completion gives you a valuable skin, you can use a simple trick. A player has now explained his approach in a Reddit post.
What is the situation? In the game “CoD MW3” there are a number of challenges that are sometimes more, sometimes less difficult. To complete them, in some cases, it is enough to just play the game as usual, while in others it requires hours of grinding.

A particularly annoying challenge is the so-called “Penetration Kills”. In this, you must shoot through objects or walls with various weapon types and eliminate the enemies behind them. For example, you have to achieve 10 “Penetration Kills” in a round with the different LMGs (light machine guns) to unlock hidden skins as a reward. Not an easy task.
By the way, some skins also have their disadvantages. Activision has announced an important change regarding this.

A simple trick makes the challenge achievable
How can the challenge be mastered? As often, the solution to the problem comes from a Reddit user. Specifically from “jonnyvue”, who shows in a video how he completed the challenge without much trouble:
To complete the task, “jonnyvue” plays in Hardcore mode on the map “Shipment” with an LMG. Right after spawning, he positions himself in a specific spot on the map, from which he does not directly have a view of the enemy team’s spawn, but does look in that direction. However, shooting can be done through a ship container placed in front of the spawn, fulfilling the challenge’s requirement.
The result: The enemies fall like flies. XP comes in quickly, and the requirements for the challenge are met.
How does the trick resonate with the community? It may not be the most gentlemanly way to earn points. Many reactions to the Reddit video seem unable to decide whether they find the trick good or want to criticize it:
- The user “burningastronaut” writes rather torn: “That’s disgusting. I love it.”
- “Turbulent-Resist-442” comments mockingly: “Very nice. I bet they were fuming.”
- Warning, “Batata260610” states: “How to get reported and banned for no reason.”
It remains to be seen whether the developer Sledgehammer Games will intervene now and put a stop to this approach. Ultimately, it is nothing more than “Spawn Trapping”, which can certainly lead to server kicks or worse penalties.
Those who have used the trick, or have faced the challenge honestly, can look forward to their new skin in the end. All others will continue to grind.
