Among all killstreaks that can be achieved in the multiplayer of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” by defeating opponents, the Nuke, in English “Tactical Nuclear Bomb”, is probably the strongest. Accordingly, it is quite difficult to earn it. A reddit user now proves in a video that one can make life significantly easier through clever positioning.
Which killstreak is it? Widely known, the Nuke is familiar to all who regularly roam the digital battlefields of the “CoD” games. Since its first appearance in the original “Modern Warfare 2” from 2009, the killstreak has been equally feared and admired by players.
Whoever managed to collect the required 25 kills within a match without dying could call themselves the owner of a Nuke. Once activated, a countdown of ten seconds starts before the bomb detonates, killing all spawned players and ending the round.
Over the years, the parameters changed a bit, and in some installments of the series, the Nuke was completely absent. In the current MW3, it is back, this time requiring 30 kills without dying. Not an easy task.
A reddit user achieves the Nuke in record time
On reddit, user “Chrisable” published a video showcasing a record-breaking killstreak. In it, he plays on the map “Shipment” and shoots through a narrow gap between two container walls with a light machine gun. The opponent spawning behind has hardly a chance to move away from that spot.

In just 26 seconds, the user achieves the Nuke. For his less than honorable approach, he receives both admiration and criticism in the reddit comments.
- “gunzby2” writes: “I bet you were reported 26 times in 26 seconds, and that is the real record.”
- “That is cool and uncool at the same time,” says “DisaronnoSwigs” indecisively.
- “That might be the least impressive Nuke in Call of Duty history,” observes “VelvetCowboy19” for himself.
Why is such an approach even possible? Another reddit user named “TeaAndLifting” may have an explanation for why the perfidious spawn trapping system works so well. The system tries to spawn the recently killed player at a “safe” distance from the person who killed them, to quickly and easily take revenge. “In this case, their last killer had the safe spawn in sight,” concludes the user. It’s not the first time that in-game systems or weapons have been criticized by the community. A certain shield has recently been criticized for being unfair.
Whether the video truly shows a world record is questionable. Whether the method shown disqualifies itself for a widely recognized record is left to the eye of each player.
