In Call of Duty: Warzone, campers are not exactly the most popular players. With a new killstreak, you can really get on their nerves since Season 2 Reloaded and force them to leave their positions.
With the Reloaded update in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, a new killstreak has been added to the game, which was hinted at in the Roadmap for Season 2. It is called the “Tankbreaker”.
The Tankbreaker is designed to shoot a rocket at a building, causing an explosion across multiple floors. Players are sure: This could be a nightmare for campers and snipers.
“Tankbreaker” enables long-range attacks
Why does this make life difficult for campers? Campers like to hole up in buildings or on rooftops and wait there until they can surprise enemy players. Some sit in the corner with their shotgun, while others snipe from long distances.
Engaging campers in a gunfight can end badly because they often have an advantage due to their position. By the time you even enter the room or get to the rooftop, they already have you in their sights.
With the Tankbreaker, you don’t have to rely on luck that you aim and shoot faster; you can surprise the campers from a great distance with an attack. You activate the killstreak by pulling out your binoculars and targeting the building where you suspect the campers to be.
How does the Tankbreaker work? With the killstreak, you send a rocket crashing down on the target. This causes an explosion and leaves only a cloud of smoke behind. This means that the campers must leave their positions beforehand – or their avatars will be eliminated.
In the English article on callofduty.com, there is mention of a “column of gas”, which essentially translates to “gas column”. If it is not a smoke cloud but harmful gas, the attack would be even more dangerous.
“This will be the cause of many tears”
What do players say about this? In a post on X (formerly Twitter), one user notes: “The worst nightmare of a sniper is coming for us.” Someone comments: “This is going to be wild.” Another user mentions with a laughing emote that the killstreak will be particularly “broken” (too strong) in the endgame when players are camping in a building.
On Reddit, one user writes on March 4 that he hopes the “Tankbreaker” will be really rare. “I don’t see how this helps the gameplay at all.” In another comment, he adds: “It aids worse players who don’t know how to combat a better team with a better position. That’s the point.”
Another user writes: “This Tankbreaker will be the cause of many tears.” And one user sees it as a good addition, “depending on how long the warning before the attack actually lasts.” Someone wonders how large the radius of the killstreak is. If it is very far-reaching, it could be “game-changing”.
