What has been officially announced? Along with the announcement of the postponement, CoD has already made a few content promises.
Accordingly, they want to implement a lot based on player feedback. However, the developers are not being specific about this. Currently, there are many issues that players are criticizing.
At the forefront are the missing statistics in Warzone 2 – to this day, you cannot see how many kills or victories you have accumulated in the Battle Royale. Whether this will come at the start of Season 2 remains unclear.

On the other hand, the developers are discussing 2 other major community wishes that have now been officially announced:
- A new, smaller map for Warzone 2
- Resurgence mode for Warzone 2
- Ranked mode for Modern Warfare 2
- New maps, weapons, modes for MW2
What have leaks announced? Several weeks ago, supposed key arts for Season 2 appeared. Accordingly, Season 2 will have a Japanese-themed vibe, with corresponding maps.
There are reports that the map “Castle” will come to CoD MW2. This map first appeared in CoD: World at War (2008) and was also used for CoD: Vanguard (2021).
Castle is also expected to be part of the new Resurgence map of Warzone 2. Here it is suspected, that you can already spot the map in the game:

As a new operator, a familiar face from CoD is set to return: Ronin. Already had a cameo in CoD MW 2019, and current leaks claim he is coming back as an operator in the game.
Additionally, dataminers found hints for the modes “Cranked” for CoD MW2 and “Plunder” for Warzone 2.
Experienced Call of Duty players might feel a slight déjà vu. Back in 2022, Season 2 was postponed, as Vanguard and Warzone 1 had issues.
The developers took 2 extra weeks and were indeed able to clean things up significantly and resolve many issues. It remains to be seen if this will also work this year and at the same time provide enough new content to keep players engaged.
