Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 had an extremely successful release. Due to a live season system, free new contents regularly come into the game.

CoD MW2: Season 1 – Time, Download & Preload
When does Season 1 of CoD MW2 start? The season went online 4 hours earlier and is already available.
How large is the download? This again depends on your platform. Players report the following update sizes:
- PC (Steam/Battle.net): about 32 GB
- Xbox One / Series: about 50 – 60 GB
- Ps4 / PS5: 25 – 30 GB
The size of the download also depends on which parts of MW2 you have installed. All packs were slightly adjusted – the fewer packages you have on the disk, the smaller the download.
Is there a preload? The preload is online on all platforms.
CoD MW2: Season 1 – Content at Launch
What content does Season 1 offer at launch? Right at the beginning of Season 1, the biggest chunk of content is announced. Here’s an overview:
- Season release on November 16.
- 1 classic map – Shoot House
- Hardcore modes / Tier 1
- Combat statistics
- New Battle Pass system
- 3 new weapons
- Spec-Ops mission
- Seasonal Prestige system

Additionally, the developers have already announced content for the rest of the season. Most of it will come during the mid-season on December 14:

- Modern Warfare FC
“Modern Warfare FC” refers to cosmetic bundles that will be released staggered but will arrive in the game before the mid-season. The football stars Neymar, Pogba, and Messi will then be found as operators in MW2 and Warzone 2.
