The community celebrates the return of the fast-paced arcade mode “Gun Game” to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Many players are fans of this game mode, but on the map “Shipment,” the “Gun Game” creates chaos.
What is “Gun Game”? In addition to the classic multiplayer variants like “Team Deathmatch” or “Search and Destroy,” Call of Duty also offers various arcade modes. With Season 2, “Gun Game” returned. This mode is definitely a community favorite. Originally, it is a format from CoD Black Ops (2013). In Modern Warfare (2019), the mode then became truly popular.
In “Gun Game,” everyone fights against each other. The goal is to achieve the most kills in the shortest amount of time. But there’s a twist: every time you get a kill, you switch weapons. From assault rifles to submachine guns, snipers, and rocket launchers, everything is included.
If you’re the first to get 18 kills, you win the round. No wonder, then, that it gets pretty hectic in “Gun Game” – and on Shipment, it sometimes doesn’t even work properly.

Gun Game is a race
What makes the mode special? “Gun Game” actually started as an April Fool’s joke but was so well received by players that it has since been included in many CoD games.
Or now in Modern Warfare 2. However, not every round is fun for all players. A Reddit user named u/The_Noid8 recently released a video that shows “Gun Game” on a very special map.
The short clip, which has received over 5,000 likes on reddit, illustrates the full extent of the madness. u/The_Noid8 was on the map “Shipment.” The map is extremely small and known for chaotic gameplay:
As it had to come to pass: the Reddit user sat in a corner and could take out his opponents one by one. Within only 38 seconds, the round was over.

How does the community respond? The clip is well received and generated a lot of likes. It is said that “Gun Game” on Shipment is epic. The community definitely sees the key to success in positioning oneself in a corner and covering the flanks. The map then ensures that an opponent runs right into your sights.

But there are also critical voices. Especially the spawn mechanics of Modern Warfare 2 are under criticism.
I know that Shipment is not the best example, but I want to take the opportunity to criticize the spawns in “Gun Game.” On every map, the spawns are complete rubbish! Either you spawn a few meters next to the enemy who just killed you, or you spawn in the line of sight of another enemy. Or both.
