When does the Free Weekend run? On the evening of December 15, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 opened its doors to Free2Play players. Here is the complete timeframe:
- From December 15, 22 at 7 PM
- Until December 19, 22 at 7 PM
Overall, you can try the shooter for 4 days on all available platforms: PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and the Battle.net launcher.

How can I participate? Search in your platform’s store for “Modern Warfare 2” and follow the corresponding instructions.
To participate, you need an account on the respective platforms and a “Call of Duty” account. If you need to create a new CoD account, you will also need a phone number for two-factor authentication.
The download size varies between 30 and 40 GB depending on the platform.
What is all free? In total, 3 maps are available and 4 game modes. Additionally, the content can be played in standard first-person mode, and the third-person variant is also available.
