In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a pesky bug is currently causing trouble. The error “No supported DXGI adapter found” usually occurs at startup and prevents you from joining a match. But don’t worry, you can quickly fix the error. MeinMMO explains how.
Where does the error occur? Console players can breathe a sigh of relief for now, as this nasty bug only affects PC players.
But we can reassure you as well. Although the game displays the error message “No supported DXGI adapter,” it is not a hardware problem.

The graphics driver is the issue: Check your graphics card driver, it is most likely outdated. Usually, a newer version is available for download.
While many games can be opened with older driver versions, if you haven’t updated your drivers in a while, problems can arise more frequently. So keep your drivers as up-to-date as possible.
If your driver is updated, the error “No supported DXGI adapter found” should no longer occur. By the way, this is not the only error currently causing issues in Call of Duty. A bug is making a mode in CoD MW2 nearly unplayable – players think it could be intentional.

How can I update my graphics card driver? It’s quite simple. Gone are the days when you had to manually compare version numbers to find the right driver. Nowadays, graphics card manufacturers offer management software that handles the downloads for you.
Depending on which manufacturer your graphics card comes from, there are differences:
- Nvidia graphics card: GeForce Experience
- AMD Radeon graphics card: AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition
If the program doesn’t automatically prompt you to update your graphics driver, check under the “Drivers” tab. You can start the installation from there.
Even if you have a brand new graphics card, it can be worth checking your drivers regularly. Especially for new hardware, new software is released at fairly short intervals.
