What is “Search & Destroy” and why do I need loadouts for it? The tactical mode Search & Destroy (Eng. “Search & Destroy”, short: SnD) is one of the many multiplayer modes of Modern Warfare.
In the SnD mode, matches run quite differently than in most other multiplayer modes, which is why specialized loadouts are recommended:
- Respawn is disabled – Players who are eliminated only return in the next round
- There are attackers and defenders – The attackers must try to destroy one of the two enemy objectives with a bomb
- A team wins if the bomb has destroyed an objective, the explosive has been defused, or one team is completely down without the bomb being planted.
- Maximum of 7 rounds – The first team to 4 victories wins the match
Search & Destroy has been part of Call of Duty for a long time and for many players, it is the best mode of the entire game. The rules require a completely different approach and often completely different loadouts.
Whose loadouts are they? The equipment recommendation comes from the CoD world champion of 2015 and current player of the “Call of Duty League” Dillon “Attach” Price. Attach was the youngest CoD world champion to date (at 18 years old) and is currently battling for the “New York Subliners”.

MP5 Loadout – For quick access
- MP5 attachments
- Muzzle: Compensator
- Barrel: 10mm 30 Round Auto-Magazine
- Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
- Stock: FTAC Foldable
- Extra: Sleight of Hand
- Blue Perk: Sprint Speed
- Red Perk: Ghost
- Yellow Perk: Tactical Mask
- Specialist: Fast Hands / Flak Jacket / Eager

How do I play this loadout? This is a “Rush Loadout” with which you quickly move across the map to take a specific position or initiate flank attacks. The MP5 is ideal for this, as it has been considered one of the best weapons of Modern Warfare since the beta phase.
The yellow perk “Tactical Mask” plays a significant role here. It allows you to use the field upgrade “Dead Silence” quickly or more often. Combined with “Sprint Speed”, you move incredibly fast across the maps.
Additionally, Attach likes to carry a smoke grenade. He emphasizes how powerful the grenade can be when you obscure an area guarded by the enemy, who may not know exactly what tactics you are pursuing with the smoke.

How do I play this loadout? With this loadout, Attach feels equipped for all combat distances. His M4 performs very well at all ranges and thanks to the anti-equipment perks “Flak Jacket” and “Fast Hands”, he also dares to go to spots where he expects to be hit by an enemy grenade. With this loadout, you are very flexible and can take on various roles during the match. Thanks to the quick and stable M4, you can assist at the front, but also secure larger areas.

How do I play this loadout? Playing a sniper weapon in CoD’s multiplayer usually doesn’t mean waiting a long time for the enemy.
With this class, Attach also wants to move quickly across the map but can also eliminate enemies at very long distances. When he plays aggressively with the AX-50, he opts for “Sprint Speed”. If he stays back a bit for sniping, he tends to choose “Fast Hands” for the blue perks.
The extra “Focus” in the setup helps with weapon control while under fire. We recommend this extra in our tips for snipers for every sniper playstyle, as you can significantly reduce the “flinch effect”.
SnD loadouts help even in public games
Are the loadouts also suitable for public games? The setups here are strong and can also work in public games. However, the rules of CDL matches differ significantly regarding equipment selection:
- Only snipers, SMGs, and assault rifles are allowed
- No killstreaks available
- Fewer field upgrades allowed
- About half of the perks are banned
- Only frag grenades and Semtex in primary equipment
- Only flashbangs, stun grenades, and smoke grenades in tactical equipment
- Some attachments are banned, like laser or akimbo
Therefore, these loadouts are especially useful as a foundation from which you can further develop.
Try to experiment a bit here and adjust the loadouts to your playstyle. “Specialist” can be extremely strong in Search & Destroy. It might be worth it for you to skip killstreaks from Modern Warfare since there are generally few kills to distribute in SnD.
