Call of Duty: Modern Warfare offers players many customization options already. A developer has now announced new calling cards that allow you to show your opponents what you can do with your favorite weapons.
What’s coming to CoD? A developer announced on reddit the return of calling cards for weapon mastery.
There is currently no weapon mastery system in Modern Warfare like there has been in many previous CoDs. While you can unlock many skins for the weapons and receive special gold metal skins when you unlock everything, previous installments of the series also featured calling cards for the weapons.
Whether the new cosmetics will be unlockable through their own challenges or be part of the skin system remains unclear for now.

What’s in it for me? Many players have a favorite weapon in Modern Warfare and would like to show off a little with the successes of their favorite gun.
With the new “calling cards,” you can directly show everyone which firearm will be responsible for one or the other respawn.
When are the new calling cards coming? A player on reddit wished for the return of these special calling cards in a rather small thread and actually received a satisfying answer to his request.
Currently in visual development. Then in artistic production. Then insert and script. Certify. Then release in an update soon. No specific date yet, but we are currently working on it.

A developer from Infinity Ward joined the discussion and confirmed not only that the calling cards are planned but that work is already underway on them.
In another response, “artpeasant” even hinted at additional calling cards for particularly diligent soldiers. More rewards for additional tasks such as “Place X bombs” or “Win X team deathmatches” could also come.
However, “artpeasant” could not reveal more than “With each update, we’re making a few steps forward”.
