In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and also in Warzone, revolvers are currently very popular. One combo is particularly strong, and it is set to be weakened soon, as Infinity Ward has announced.
What kind of weapon combo is this? Many players are currently relying on the .357 Magnum with the “Snake Shot” ammunition, which transforms the weapon into a sort of shotgun, both in Warzone and Modern Warfare. The revolver is then held directly in both hands with the Akimbo perk.
This combination makes the weapons become true killing machines at short and medium range, capable of taking out any opponent in one or two shots. They promote a very aggressive playstyle that is often rewarded with many kills.
How strong this combo really is is demonstrated by the user ssieK in a video on reddit. There, he takes out a large number of enemies in a short amount of time:

Nerf for the Akimbo Snake Shots and RPGs is coming
What do the players say about the weapon combo? In the Warzone subreddit, there was already a larger thread on April 24th, where user SlaKer440 called for a nerf for “Snake Shot Akimbo”.
He criticizes the lack of counterplay options once you are in the weapons’ firing range.
It’s not the only thread that has been created on this topic in the last two weeks.
What do the developers say? On Twitter, Joe Cecot, the Co-Design Director at Infinity Ward, commented on the release of Patch 1.20 and simultaneously announced a nerf for the mentioned weapon combo.
The weakening is set to occur in a smaller update once some testing has been completed.
He also announced adjustments to the RPGs, which will only come into play with the next major patch.
So if you want to achieve a lot of kills, you can create a loadout with the setup described above and get started right away.
What other weapons and loadouts are popular? If you are not a close-range fighter or if the nerf has already taken place, you should opt for other loadouts.
We have already explained which loadouts 3 CoD pro players use and how you can replicate them.
