On the evening of September 25, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD: Warzone received the last small update in Season 5. Find out here what changes before the start of the new Season 6.
Why the last update before Season 6? The current Season 5 is in its last days, and the new Season 6 will start on September 29.
To get into the mood for the new season and celebrate the ending Season, Infinity Ward is giving CoD Modern Warfare and Warzone one last small playlist update as part of Season 5. This went live on the evening of September 25 and is now active.
What changes with the new update: To celebrate the last weekend of Season 5, Infinity Ward has activated the following for Warzone and Modern Warfare with this update – until the end of Season 5 on September 29:
- Double XP
- Double Weapon XP
- Double tier progression in the Season 5 Battle Pass
If you want to push your seasonal rank, level up some weapons quickly, grab some rewards from the current Battle Pass at the last minute, or complete it, now is a great opportunity.
There was also a change in the playlist. For the last weekend, the popular Mini-Royale is available. The map is smaller, there are fewer players, and match time is shortened, so you can look forward to the most intense part of the regular Warzone experience here. There are constant enemy contacts, and the matches go much faster.
What to expect with Season 6: Soon, the new season – Season 6 – will begin for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. It will start on September 29 and will bring, among other things:
- 2 new weapons – the AS Val and the R700
- 2 new Operators
- a subway system for Warzone
- a new Battle Pass
- and more

What happens after Season 6? After that, many players and CoD fans will likely turn their attention to the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The new “Call of Duty” installment will be released on November 13, 2020, continuing the popular Black Ops series during the Cold War.
However, Modern Warfare and Warzone should continue as well. It is already known that Warzone will continue beyond Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War and is intended to serve as a constant connecting the CoD games.
Regarding Modern Warfare, according to leaks and datamining findings, there are still entries for a Season 7. So there is a chance that with the release of the new CoD 2020, Modern Warfare will not lose out on fresh content.
How about you? Are you staying loyal to Modern Warfare, or will you be moving on to Black Ops Cold War soon?
