In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD: Warzone, you can block doors so your opponents can’t get through. We explain how the trick works.
This trick is about: In the traditional multiplayer of CoD: MW and Warzone, there is a way to lock or block doors so that other players cannot pass through. Old trick gets a lot of attention from the professional league CDL: The trick itself is not really new. Some players have been using it for a while in the Infection mode. However, the method was not widely known in the community and was overlooked by many. It was only through the professional “Call of Duty League” (CDL) that the trick gained massive attention during Season 5.
Recently, three-time CoD world champion Clayster from the CDL pro team Dallas Empire asked on Twitter if anyone outside of the “New York Subliners” team has figured out how to block doors now that the CDL year is ending. John Boble, the coach of the Subliners, responded by showing the trick and mentioned that he would do it in the league when he is bored.
This is how the trick works: Basically, it’s quite simple:
- Go to an open door or open it yourself
- Now close the door, BUT not by interacting or slamming it the other way, but by gently walking against the door
- You can close the door completely or leave a small crack open, through which you can see and shoot
- Now sit behind the door on the inside. That’s it. Now no one from your opponents can open the door from the other side – neither by interaction nor by slamming
- The only way to counter this, according to the pro coach, is grenades, but you can protect yourself with a Trophy System

What’s the point of all this? In short: It allows you to gain a tactical advantage. This way, you can barricade yourself in a house in Warzone and hold it. Even if you can’t completely secure it, you can force your enemies to a specific entrance that you can secure alone or with your team.
If you encounter someone using this trick, now you know how to counter it – namely with grenades or C4. Also, you can be sure that you have to be extremely careful at an alternative access to the building if you decide to go in.
