A new playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD Warzone brings today, on August 12th, a mode that players have been anticipating. The return of the action-packed “Shoot the Ship” is sure to delight many fans.
What’s in the update: Modern Warfare and Warzone only receive a small adjustment in the playlist. Today, Wednesday, August 12th
- the “Weekend Warfare” (Modern Warfare) and “Modern Warfare Multiplayer” (Warzone), the two modes from the Free2Play event, are disappearing
- “Shoot or Ship”, no matter what (“Shoot the Ship”), comes as a new mode for the multiplayer of Modern Warfare.
Finally, the popular “Shoot the Ship” is back, which players actually expected during the new playlist update yesterday. However, the mode was apparently either forgotten or intentionally pushed to today.
Instead, there was a proper patch yesterday, the first update for Season 5, in which the strongest weapon got nerfed directly.
Shoot the Ship – Action-packed playlist is back
What is Shoot the Ship? In Shoot the Ship, you play a playlist of various game modes on the maps Shipment and Shoot House. Both are known for the constant fighting that occurs on them.
You encounter enemies constantly and will hardly have even 10 seconds without firing a shot or taking one. The maps are relatively small for the large number of players, with plenty of opportunities to surprise enemies around corners or get surprised by them.
Why should I play it? Since you are constantly fighting here, there is a high likelihood that you will achieve many kills. This allows you to complete challenges, such as unlocking new camos, or unlocking new weapons and attachments through leveling up.
If you want to level up the two new weapons from Season 5, the AN-94 and the ISO, you can do so easily in “Shoot the Ship”. Even if you lose, you will still gain a lot of experience points just from the kills.
Warzone players, however, do not leave empty-handed. You still have access to the mode “Mini Royale”, where you start with a smaller circle. The action is already boiled down to the last minutes of the battle royale from the very beginning. MeinMMO author Maik Schneider suggests: If you like Shoot the Ship, you will love Mini Royale.
