The team from Infinity Ward states that more than 200,000 cheaters have been banned in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone . In the future, they want to secure even more. However, players continue to complain about issues with cheats.
How was this determined? Infinity Ward is responsible for the anti-cheat software in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare. Since the game’s release, over 200,000 players have been banned for cheating. This includes the new wave of bans from this week, which also banned a popular streamer.
In shooters, cheaters bring ongoing problems. Aimbots ensure that players automatically hit the head or other body zones of opponents accurately. They do not have to aim themselves, sometimes not even pull the trigger – the aimbot can handle everything automatically.
Wallhacks are also popular. They allow players to see their opponents and other players through walls. This way, one knows who is waiting behind a door before opening it and in which direction to aim. Such software is unfair to “normal” players and results in bans in many games, including Call of Duty.
On Twitter, Infinity Ward explains: “We continue to implement additional security updates and provide new backend enforcement tools. Zero tolerance for cheating.” Even in July 2020, the developers appealed to players: Please do not cheat.
“There are still ridiculously many,” say players

User @ Zarathos88 writes: “Yes, but there are still ridiculously many of them. Are you sure you are banning them? Ban them and then take away all their rights to play your game in any way. If they want to play again, they must buy the game again. There should be a console ban on consoles that applies to all users on the console.”
User @ MassTheGod writes: “I’m sure you know that they just have to create a new email address to cheat again.” It must be said that hardware bans are also distributed. Even with a new email address, one cannot just start again.

Others complain that among the 200,000 people, there are also “innocent” ones. User @ Preyforkevin writes: “I was banned from your game without cause. These false bans are a problem that you need to spend more time investigating. Zero tolerance is bullshit when you ban normal players in the same mix with cheaters.”
