Original message – What’s happening this week in CoD? It is highly likely that Season 5 of the current CoD games will start on Tuesday or Wednesday next week (August 4th / 5th) . Both Modern Warfare and Warzone aim not only to impress with new contents but also to give the players of the outgoing season a little treat.
With their “Weekly Briefing”, as part of the CoD blog on an Activision website, the developers provide advance information on which modes or features you can expect this week in CoD. And the list looks good. The popular 24/7 modes “Shoot House” & “Shipment” return individually to the playlist, and Warzoners will be able to rock a hardcore mode that has only been available for a few days: Juggernaut Royale. Additionally, there will be double XP on the weekend.
CoD – Playlist update July 28 with Shipment 24/7 & Shoot House 24/7
When do the new modes start? Since 8:15 PM on Tuesday evening, July 28th, the new modes have been live. You can log in now and start playing immediately.
Only Juggernaut Royale is not playable yet. In the last 2 weeks, the “special modes” have always only come on the weekend with a separate playlist update on Thursday or Friday evening. This is likely to be the case this time as well.
When does the double XP event start? According to the blog post, it starts on Thursday evening around 7 PM our time. It is likely that the Jugger mode will start in Warzone at that time as well. There are double points for:
- The account level
- The weapon levels
- The battle pass levels
This will run until Monday, August 3rd, again at 7 PM. If you are still missing points for the battle pass, you will have a good opportunity to catch up on a few levels.
What can the MW modes do this week? The fan favorites “Shipment 24/7” & “Shoot House 24/7” send you into a chaotic battle on the rather small maps until your fingers or eyes hurt. Here, 24/7 only means one map in changing modes. A fun experience for everyone who enjoys a lot of action in CoD.
“Deathmatch Domination” is an exciting mix of “Domination” and a “Team Deathmatch”. In “Domination” you usually score points only by holding flags. In “Domination-Deathmatch” you also score points for your team account by getting kills. Just like with coffee, the mix can enhance the experience, though it may not suit everyone’s taste.
“Drop Zone” is more akin to a “Hardpoint” match. There are changing areas that the teams must hold for points. However, as a twist, you do not have the usual “killstreaks”. The pesky gadgets are only available when your team holds the “Drop Zone”. Then, every now and then, a “supply crate” will fly in, providing one of the carefully packaged team advantages.
What can the Warzone mode do? In “Juggernaut Royale Quads”, you and your squad of four enter the Warzone and fight, as usual, for the title of the last survivors. But on the map, there are a few crates with nasty Juggernaut suits available. As a “Human Tank”, you are heavily armored and can withstand a lot of fire, plus you have a minigun, and your helmet plays a radio that makes your reduced movement speed hardly matter.
If you want to try the mode, check out how to best take down a Juggernaut in Warzone.
What happened last week in CoD? The past week was all about the new Season 5. The CoD makers sent mysterious video snippets to major content creators, and the community has been guessing their meaning since then. Based on the videos, we presented three possible map changes for Warzone on MeinMMO.
In addition, a former hacker addressed the players and developers on reddit, giving tips on dealing with hackers. Cheaters are becoming an increasingly significant problem in CoD, and despite a announced ban wave from developer Infinity Ward, players remain skeptical.
Next week, the new season is likely starting soon and will bring a new battle pass and content for the current CoD titles. In the meantime, check out how many CDs the massive CoD would have needed back in the day. With counting, you’ll be ready just in time for the season start next week.
