For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, a new patch for PC, PS4, and Xbox One was released today, October 8th. It fixes issues with broken and overly powerful weapons.
What did the patch bring? According to the official patch notes, the new update included only adjustments to weapons and a general bug fix:
- A bug was fixed that allowed players to survive in gas while being on the subway transit system.
- The AS VAL has been fixed, so bullets can no longer penetrate walls.
- The SP-R 208 was slightly nerfed by increasing the aiming time with the weapon slightly. Additionally, a bug with the magazines was fixed.
- The aiming time for the SKS was also slightly increased in relation to zoom.
Why are these changes so interesting? The two new firearms, AS VAL and SP-R 208, came with the start of Season 6 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone. Both had interesting properties that were not intended:
- The assault rifle AS VAL can shoot through multiple walls
- The DMR SP-R 208 has no bullet drop – .338 Lapua Mag 5-R magazines make it possible
Even though the weapons were broken and overly powerful, there was a significant outcry once it became known that bug fixes were planned. Some players would have liked to keep the weapons as they were.
What else is happening in Call of Duty? On Tuesday, the usual playlist update for Modern Warfare and Warzone occurred. In Warzone, this resulted in the “Plunder: Blood Money” mode in the quad playlist.
The Tank Royale, where one player won even without teammates and a tank, remains in place.
Fans of Call of Duty in general can look forward to the beta of Black Ops Cold War this weekend. It started this evening for PS4 pre-orders. When you can participate without pre-order or join on another platform, we have shared that in this article.
