The two shooter hits Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD: Warzone bring new playlists again, and especially trio teams can celebrate this week. For that, duos are left out. The multiplayer brings an anti-camper mode.
What’s happening in CoD Modern Warfare and Warzone? As almost every Tuesday evening, there is also a playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare today, on April 21st. Around 7 PM our time, the update should go live.
Update April 21 – 8 PM: The update for the multiplayer of Modern Warfare is live and has brought 2 new modes to the playlist:
- Cabin Fever – Moshpit with small to medium maps
- Boosted – Fast TDM with special rules
Some game modes will be exchanged, and the two titles Modern Warfare & Warzone will get a little fresh air in the gameplay. Duo teams could not hold, as the first duo mode of the Battle Royale Warzone is disappearing again.
Additionally, Ronin, a new operator of Season 3 will also come with its own bundle to the in-game shop. Find out here what else is coming up.
Playlist update on April 21 celebrates trios – duos removed again
Why do trios benefit particularly? If you usually play in groups of three in the two CoD titles, you can experience a lot this week. There are a total of 3 exciting modes for trios, and all offer a lot of action and challenge your teamwork:
- Battle Royale Trio
- Plunder Trio
- Shootout Tournament Trio
Fight for cash, rewards, or for your survival – as a trio, you have the free choice.
Free-to-play Warzoners can enjoy the two main modes of the Battle Royale without disadvantages. In the regular multiplayer, a tournament mode is available that rewards players based on their placement. Here you can further customize your weapon setup and prove what you can do against 15 other teams.
What is this anti-camper mode? An old acquaintance returns to the playlist for Modern Warfare – Boosted. A mode perfect for those who hate campers, as they are ruthlessly blown up here.
The mode works similarly to a team deathmatch. However, each time you take down an opponent, you receive a movement buff and a nice timer of 30 seconds. When the timer runs out, it goes BOOM and you go off like a lost Semtex – you are launched far away from the next opponent into the air.
What else is there for Warzone? Duo teams have to revert again to larger game modes this week. Although long demanded and introduced for the first time before the weekend, the only duo mode disappears again from the playlist. Many players felt that the plunder duo was not the right mode, and they continue to wait for the BR duos.
However, other team sizes up to 4 players have things to do. Here is the expected Warzone playlist:
- BR-4
- BR-3
- Plunder 3
- BR-Solo
What else is there for the multiplayer? In the unscheduled playlist update last Friday, many players wished for modes with smaller maps for the weekend. Afterwards, Modern Warfare is fulfilling these wishes or at least accommodating the players a bit.
With “Cabin Fever”, a mode is coming that takes you through the various game modes on rather small maps. The moshpit includes not only the mini-maps but also medium-sized fields:
- Rust
- Shipment
- Shoot House
- Hideout
- Hackney Yard
Additionally, there are some new cosmetic bundles for the fashion-conscious CoD soldier. Sometimes, appearance can make a big difference – especially in the stressful Warzone, one or the other soldier can be distracted by artistic details.
