For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone, the next playlist update is coming. While things are rather quiet in Battle Royale, MW is launching duo tournaments, a bomb mode, and a new chaos playlist.
What’s going on with CoD? As almost every week since the release in October 2019, a new playlist launches at the beginning of the week for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Through a blog post on an Activision website, the developers inform us about the adjustments for this week and provide an outlook.
MeinMMO summarizes the adjustments for you: Especially through multiplayer, there’s a content breeze with fresh modes. Even after the big “Season 4 Reloaded” update, CoD continues to push forward. Players of Warzone will have to be satisfied with regular modes, but can still engage in the mega-quad with 200 players.
Since the blog post usually misses some information about the new playlist, it’s still unclear which modes will actually be available after the update. As soon as the playlist is online, we will add it here for you. Everything the blog releases can now be found here.

Modern Warfare & Warzone – Playlist Update on July 7 or 8
When will the update come? That is still unclear. Typically, the update will either arrive tonight, Tuesday, July 7, at 7 PM, or tomorrow morning, Wednesday, July 8, at 8 AM our time.
It is expected that there will at least be a small update tonight (Tuesday), even if the new modes do not arrive yet. This is because the Double XP event is still ongoing for a National Holiday in the USA until 7 PM.
Modern Warfare with a completely new playlist
What changes in the regular multiplayer? There is a lot going on here. The post already lists 6 modes that are on the schedule this week.
The crazy 24/7 modes from the last playlist will probably disappear for now and make way for the mode “Dirty Old Houseboat.” This is a Moshpit with switching modes on the smaller maps “Rust,” “Shipment,” and “Shoot House.”
After the Realism Playlists have now become standard modes for CoD 2019, a further “realistic” experience is offered this week. The party mode “Gun Game” goes into the playlist as the “real” version, and you have to fight your way to victory using blueprint weapons.
Additionally, fans of the gunfight finally get a tournament once again. As a duo, you will compete against 15 other teams in a knockout tournament for big prizes and XP. As the first prize, there was a special blueprint to win in the other tournaments. Even without a spot on the podium, you will collect some cosmetics. The mode “Gunfight Blueprints” remains in the game for practice rounds.
On top of that, there is a completely new playlist for Modern Warfare: Bomb Plant Moshpit. On switching maps, you will only play modes where you must plant a bomb at the enemies. In addition to the standard bomb modes “Search & Destroy” and “Cyber Attack,” unusual bomb modes like “Demolition,” where respawns remain active, might also land in the rotation. It will definitely be explosive.
This is rounded off with the regular version of the great Ground War mode. Here’s a summary of all the announced modes:

Warzone with only minor mode changes
What changes in Warzone? Here, almost everything remains the same. As announced, the Juggernaut mode will disappear from rotation again but will not be replaced. Instead, the Season 4 mode “Quad 200” stays in the playlist for now, allowing you to work on your next kill record. According to the blog, the following modes will be available this week:

- 200 Player Quad
- Blood Money Squad
What happened last week with CoD? Last week was all about the significant weapon changes of the mid-season update. Warzone players looked for a replacement for nerfed Grau 5.56, and multiplayer gamers went hunting for the new sniper rifle with explosive properties.
It was a strong week for CoD, which kicked off last Thursday with the introduction of the Juggernaut mode and the start of the double XP event for an exciting weekend. Modern Warfare & Warzone are continuing to push forward, with plans for some changes and new features for Season 5.
That there is still little information about the new CoD 2020, which is actually long overdue, fades into the background.
