Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the BR spin-off Warzone bring a new playlist update. This week, campers are in for a tough time, as both games feature anti-camper modes.
Update, 21:00: The new update is now live. Here you can find the complete new playlist.
What’s coming for CoD? Season 4 of Call of Duty is entering its final weeks, and the new Season 5 starts for Modern Warfare & Warzone in early August. Until then, there will still be at least 2 major playlist updates, and you can find the information for today’s update (July 21) here on MeinMMO as usual.
This week, campers have no laughs in the special modes. For MW & Warzone, each mode starts where “tactical waiters” have fewer chances, as active and aggressive gameplay is encouraged by the rules. On top of that, “Shoot the Ship” is back. A popular mode-map mixture of “Shoot House” and the chaos map “Shipment”.
Update July 22, 8:00 AM – The new playlist is live. Here are the current modes for MW & Warzone:
Modern Warfare
- Tournament
- Ground War
- Gunfight Blueprints
- Gunfight 3v3 – Snipers Only
- Shoot or Ship, doesn’t matter
- Cranked
- Infected Ground War
Warzone
- BR Solo / Duo / Trio Quads
- Plunder 4-player
The announced “Duo Stimulus” will probably not come until the weekend. Typically either Thursday or Friday night.
CoD Update today brings Shipment, Stimulus, and Cranked – 21.07.
When did the update start? The new playlist went online around 20:15 our time.
What are these anti-camper modes? Both current CoD games, Modern Warfare & Warzone, present you with a few modes where campers have a harder time than in the regular playlists:
- Duo Stimulus for the Warzone – The Gulag is disabled. If a player has $4,500, they come back immediately.
- Shoot the Ship – A mix of small maps in CoD MW. Especially on Shipment, campers have a hard time.
- Cranked playlist – The “Cranked” mode activates a 30-second timer upon a kill. During this time, you’re significantly faster, but you must refill it with a kill (or assist), otherwise it goes “boom”.
In the Warzone, you can approach the Stimulus mode in two ways. Either you play a relaxed game, gathering a pile of cash and enjoying safety through your respawns, or you go full speed and enjoy that you can land back in Verdansk without Gulag after “pushing”. You needn’t worry much about campers here since you usually return to the fight quickly, and you have advantages when you are active instead of running a grill in an attic.
It’s similar in “Cranked”. As soon as you score a kill, a 30-second timer starts counting down. Campers with a timer cannot just sit back and set up their tent, but must hunt. Otherwise, it goes “boom” and the entire camp is destroyed.
Not much needs to be said about “Shoot the Ship”. The fine mixture is among the most popular playlists. Many players prefer the two to be separated, but even so, they are very popular. Just not with campers since soldiers constantly run through their front tent.

Warzone without additional highlights, MW delivers sniper battles
What else is coming for the Warzone? In the Warzone, nothing exciting is coming otherwise. You have the 4 usual BR modes available in the known team sizes, and the normal “Plunder” mode runs this week in 4-player. The highlight is the duo stimulus, which has not been in the Warzone before.
What else is coming for MW? Along with the two anti-camper modes, the regular multiplayer also brings a gunfight trio, where you only use sniper rifles against enemies. Here, you can showcase your skills with the big weapons or unlock the Rytec sniper with quick-scope kills.
Additionally, there is the party mode “Reinfected Ground War”. Here you play the large Ground War maps with “zombie” rules. Some players start as infected and must try to “transform” all other players. This can lead to terrifying scenes and incredible kills in just a few moments.
What happened during the week at CoD? Since last week, unfortunately, some errors have appeared in the Warzone again. Some of them are so nasty, that they can ruin the entire match. But the developers regularly show which problems will disappear next, and really serious bugs or glitches are usually addressed quickly by the creators at Infinity Ward.
On MeinMMO, we have dealt a bit with the weapons in CoD. We presented you with hate weapons that everyone uses, but no one wants to admit it. In addition, there was a large survey about which assault rifles are the most popular in the Warzone. Here are the somewhat surprising results.
However, the most striking was the story of a streamer on Twitch. He called himself one of the best players of Modern Warfare and was caught cheating with an aim-bot and wall-hack. He essentially exposed himself, as he ran all his hacks live on Twitch.
