Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & the free-to-play offshoot Warzone generously showcase themselves in the last week of Season 2. For the weekend, there’s double XP and previously 10 tiers for the Battle Pass are gifted.
How do I get the free tiers? To grab the free tiers now, you need the current Battle Pass from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. So, you must have invested 1,000 CoD Points to benefit from this significant tier jump now.
Redemption is quite simple.
- Go to the “Shop” menu tab
- You should already see the enticing blinking display “Free Bundle” here
- In the shop, you will find the tile with the “Free Bundle” under the point “Individual”
- Activate it and you will directly receive the 10 tiers as a gift
What if my Battle Pass is already full? Even then, activating the bundle is worthwhile for you. Activision explained that the levels also count towards the tiers of the future pass. So, if you are already at Tier 100 and plan to get the Season 3 Pass as well, you will start directly with the 10 free tiers.
If you are already quite far along with the Battle Pass and plan to play this weekend anyway, you can get the gift just before the end. Starting this evening, April 3rd – 7:00 PM, double XP will be available on all 3 progression pillars (Battle Pass, Account Level, Weapon Level). If you then progress from Tier 87 to Tier 95 while playing, you can claim the bonus on Sunday and carry over 5 tiers to the next Battle Pass.
What if there is a problem?
Update March 3 12:00 PM – There are reports on Reddit and also here with us on MeinMMO, that some players with a high Battle Pass level do not receive the free tiers. It seems to affect soldiers who are already Tier 90 or higher, thus carrying the bonus into the next season.
Activision and Infinity Ward have addressed the problem with the 10 free tiers by now.
How long do I have to claim this? According to the corresponding blog post from Activision, you can collect the Battle Pass gift until Monday, April 6th, 8:00 AM. So you have the whole weekend to visit the CoD shop.
Is the Battle Pass worth it now? If you still do not have the Battle Pass yet, it’s hardly worth it. Unless you have played a lot in Season 2 and are already quite far.
If you’ve already reached Tier 70 and haven’t spent any of the CoD Points that the Battle Pass also provides on the free reward path, you are directly financing the next Battle Pass of Season 3.
In total, you can unlock 1,300 CoD Points from the Pass, at a cost of 1,000 CoD Points. A fair model if you can level the Battle Pass that far.
What else is there with Season 3? The next season could start as early as Tuesday, April 7th.
Thanks to leaks, data analysis, and observant players, we already know roughly what to expect in Season 3. However, nothing has been confirmed so far. Activision is holding back on new information, as they have with all previous content for Modern Warfare.
