A new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone is coming. With version 1.28, you can finally play Warzone on PC without CoD MW. What else is happening is not very clear so far.
Update October 14: The patch is out and brings not only the save options on PC but also some bug fixes and a new playlist. Here are the patch notes for update 1.28.
What is going on with CoD? On PlayStation, you can currently start the preload of a mysterious update. Version 1.28 is available for download for CoD: Modern Warfare & Warzone and requires a little over 10 GB from the CoD servers.
However, it is still not clear what exactly happens with this update. Even during the playlist update last week, developer Infinity Ward did not provide any advance information, and this time there is hardly any information available for the new update.
CoD MW & Warzone Update 1.28 raises questions
What information is available? An IW developer spoke up on Twitter and shared a detail of the update:
Paul Haile is “Production Director” at Modern Warfare and confirmed an important change that the update brings: “Tomorrow’s update will provide MW owners on PC with mode-specific uninstall options.”
This introduces a feature on PC that allows players to delete parts of Modern Warfare to save space. Consoles have had this option for a while, but now PC players can benefit from it too. The timing is good, as recently CoD MW & Warzone have been exceeding 256GB SSDs, and gamers with such a hard drive can free up space for Modern Warfare.
However, what the update brings for consoles is still not known.
Preload & possible content of the update
When will the update be available? On PlayStation, the data package will be available for installation from 08:00 on October 14. It will therefore be available tomorrow morning. Size of the preload:
- Size on PlayStation: 10.864 GB
What could the update bring? The patch could bring a playlist update. However, there are also bug fixes that are currently a high priority.
Particularly, Warzone is suffering from some serious problems. There is a glitch that allows infinite tactical items. With the help of Stim Packs, players can easily endure the gas and survive long enough to simply wait out the match, allowing the fair Warzoners to perish when the gas circle closes.
Furthermore, the bounties are currently broken and have even been removed from the game. A fix could bring the “Bounties” back into the game. After last week, the broken OP weapons from Season 6 were fixed, further issues would disappear.
As soon as the official patch notes are available, you will find the adjustments here on MeinMMO. Currently, we are also running a survey – Which weapon in Warzone is the best for you? Check it out, vote, and let us know your opinion.
