What kind of weapon is this? The CR-56 AMAX is based on the Israeli assault rifle Galil, developed as a successor to the FN FAL. The Russian AK-47 is considered its role model. It is mostly used by the Israeli army with the lighter 5.56 caliber bullets, while 7.62 caliber was exported abroad (via Wikipedia).
A “export version” can also be found in the current Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. The AMAX is available here as a heavy assault rifle and plays similarly to the AK-47.

What should I pay attention to when building AMAX? The weapon is a heavy assault rifle and plays accordingly. Any setup you want to use at least at medium range requires some attachments for better aiming.
With some recoil control or stabilization, the weapon can be well managed. The recoil is mainly vertical from the start, like with the very stable Grau 5.56, and shows only some strong side deviations during the first few shots. Once you have the first bullets under control, the AMAX provides you with a pretty stable device.

The AMAX surpasses the most popular assault rifles significantly in terms of TTK values. Although it loses a bit again in the time to aim, the values look strong. Thanks to the lower rate of fire, you’ll also save bullets in Warzone compared to the M4 or Grau.

What kind of setup is this? This setup is recommended by YouTuber “Fantou”, who has been uploading German videos about Call of Duty and other shooters since Modern Warfare 3. Currently, he shows a lot of gameplay from Warzone & Modern Warfare and presents his best setup for the AMAX for Warzone.
He uses a balanced setup that increases the weapon’s range with barrel and silencer, while the tactical laser compensates for the mobility losses of the two range attachments. What are the strengths? If you take this setup, you can hardly go wrong. You benefit from the strengths of the weapon without it becoming too slow or unstable. This applies to both Warzone and Multiplayer.
The AMAX plays nicely stable with this attachment combo, and you can land good and easy hits. Especially in Battle Royale, you will feel the advantages of the assault rifle, as your TTK is about 15% below the value of the popular M4A1. With the Grau, it is even nearly 25%.
If you like the AK-47, you should have fun with the AMAX as well. The AK has more range, but the CR-56 fires faster and also offers the 3-shot kills of the heavy assault rifles in Multiplayer.
What should I pay attention to? The laser can betray you at shorter distances. Although the Tac Laser is only visible when aiming down sights, it is quite obvious then. Instead, take the grip tape “Patterned Grip” or the stock “CR-56 EXO”. Our colleagues at GameStar have looked more closely at how the tactical laser works here.
At shorter distances, you are slower than SMGs, but you have a strong TTK. As a result, you can keep up, but you are usually at a disadvantage, e.g., in house fights. A secondary weapon with more penetration can help here – the other weapon from Season 4, the MP Fennek, would be a strong choice.
AMAX as DMR – One-shot in MP / Two-shot in Warzone – Drift0r

What kind of setup is this? This attachment combo is recommended by CoD YouTuber “Drift0r”. On his channel, he has conducted “In Depth” analyses on many weapons from Modern Warfare & Warzone and presents the values of CoD guns with strong setups.
This setup relies on the M67 conversion kit, which changes the functionality of the weapon, creating a powerful DMR out of the AMAX. This allows the weapon to shoot in semi-automatic mode while gaining significant damage and stability. We have embedded Drift0r’s English video for you here:
What are the strengths? According to Drift0r, with this setup, the weapon is the best DMR in Warzone. However, he excludes the Kar 98k, which is rather considered one of the strong sniper rifles. This has two very simple reasons:
- Headshots of the CR-56 AMAX DMR
- One-shot kill in Multiplayer
- Two-shot kill in Warzone
You can deliver precise bullets to your unsuspecting enemies and take them out incredibly quickly with headshots. The range of these strong hits increases to 51 meters thanks to the silencer and barrel. If you can handle the semi-automatic mode, try this setup.
As a little bonus, the rifle, despite the ammunition conversion, still uses assault rifle ammunition. Sniper ammo can get scarce in Warzone, but with the AMAX, you have more than 20 magazines with potentially lethal rounds at full ammunition.
What should I pay attention to? A well-rounded strong semi-automatic rifle, with one major weakness – 10 rounds in the magazine. The alternatives, the FAL assault rifle or the Season 3 weapon SKS, are more comfortable here.
If you enjoy the semi-automatic fire, the small clip is the only real problem with the rifle.

What are the strengths? Unlike the other setups in this article, “Marley” plays the AMAX with a close combat setup, and it performs well here too.
Although the weapon has significantly less range than the previous examples, it is quick to aim and remains stable. As a small bonus, the Intruder barrel provides a strong iron sight. In close combat, you should always avoid optics.
Especially for Warzone, this close combat setup is exciting. Since the CR-56 beats almost all TTK values that other assault rifles and SMGs provide in Warzone, this AR is also recommended for house battles in this form.
What should I pay attention to? The 5mW laser is strong but controversial. Here, opponents can always see the strong laser and can sometimes guess from which direction you are coming. Instead, try the tactical laser or an underbarrel. However, you can hardly use the weapon for hip fire, a crucial aspect in close combat.
For a CQC weapon, the setup is quite stable. If you want even more speed, go “without stock” into battle and gain an improved ADS time.

The AMAX hits hard with Season 4 and even has the potential to join the ranks of the most popular and strongest assault rifles – in Warzone and regular Multiplayer.
The low TTK makes it one of the best weapons in Modern Warfare right from the start, and it will be exciting to see how it performs throughout Season 4. The values already suggest a hit potential.
