What kind of weapon is this? The SKS, Samozaryadny Karabin Simonova, is a rifle produced in Russia, which was first used at the end of World War II. With Season 3, the robust and reliable rifle was newly added to the arsenal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone and is unlockable as a Battle Pass reward, alongside the powerful handgun Renetti.

What are the stats like? The CoD expert and YouTuber “TheXclusiveAce” has taken a close look at the weapon and gathered the stats for us. The damage stats apply to the upper torso area and the time-to-kill (TTK) applies to normal multiplayer.

The best attachments, setups, and loadouts for the SKS
What should I consider when modifying? The SKS is a stable rifle, which curiously appears to wobble more when shooting than it actually does. Visually, it seems like the sight is jumping in all directions. However, the recoil pattern shows precise shots that are close together. Nevertheless, you should do something about this unusual recoil. So plan for an attachment for better aiming if you want to succeed with the weapon at longer ranges.
The rifle offers the best “time in sight” (ADS) among DMRs and can keep up with assault rifles here (AK-47 300 ms). This puts it in direct competition with the FAL, the strongest AR in Warzone, and should be played as a mobile weapon. Choose your attachments so that you increase the range, but do not overly impair the ADS time. Therefore, avoid the “22” FSS M59/66″ barrel, as it brings strong disadvantages.

What is this setup suitable for? “TheXclusiveAce” recommends this attachment combination and fully relies on the weapon’s mobile strengths. Although the sight and silencer slightly increase the ADS time, the laser, barrel, and adjusted stock bring it back to a decent ADS speed.
In terms of TTK and mobility, you can keep up with the assault rifles and even have a chance for one-shot hits if you score a headshot. The weapon remains effective even at longer distances.
However, the longer the distance gets, the more you will notice the lack of a recoil attachment.
Setup 2 – Sniper Loadout for Ground War & Warzone

What is this setup suitable for? As another setup, “Ace” presents something for higher ranges. Here, too, he chooses attachments that only slightly worsen the ADS time and compensates for the losses caused by barrel, sight, and larger ammunition reserves with the “Tactical Laser”.
The Merc Foregrip significantly helps with control and allows for multiple precise shots in succession without major deviation. The YouTuber mentions that he prefers to play with a small optic and zoom sights are rather rarely found in his loadout. However, for greater ranges, it can be very helpful. Try the “VLK 3.0x Sight” here. Of the zoom sights, the VLK is the fastest and also allows kills at long distances – optimal for Warzone.
Pros and Cons of the SKS
Single-shot fans will get their money’s worth
Who is this weapon suitable for? For all CoD soldiers who enjoy using the EBR-14 or the FAL, we have a fine treat here. The SKS comes into play as a strong single-shot weapon and can impress with its stats.
How does it help me in multiplayer? It is more mobile than the EBR and deals more damage than the FAL. So if you’ve been looking for a weapon that plays like a mix of both, now it is available.
Fans of single-shot rifles will be completely satisfied, even though unlocking with the Battle Pass may take a while for some players. The weapon only becomes available at level 31 of the total 100 Battle Pass levels.
How does it help me in Warzone? The Russian rifle could paradoxically be interesting for assault rifle fans. If you like playing with the powerful FAL, you should avoid using assault rifle ammunition and skip a second assault rifle as a secondary weapon.
Since the SKS plays very similarly, you can take the SKS instead of the FAL for long ranges and pack your favorite assault rifle as a secondary. But only if you use “Overkill” in your personal loadouts and forgo other strong perks of Warzone.
