With the start of Season 5, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are getting a new feature that many players have wished for. While it doesn’t bring any gameplay advantages, many fans are excited about it.
What kind of feature is this? The shooters are supposed to receive a function with the start of Season 5 that allows you to inspect your weapons during the game.
In an animation, you get new perspectives on your firearms.
There were hints back in July that this feature could be introduced in CoD MW and Warzone. These hints have now been officially confirmed by Infinity Ward with the brief statement: “Weapon inspections – coming” (via reddit).
Players are excited about the feature
What is so special about it? Inspecting weapons is already known from games like CS:GO or CoD Modern Warfare Remastered.
By taking a close look, you get a glimpse of the weapon you have customized yourself. In Modern Warfare and Warzone, there are also many ways to upgrade your weapon. However, you can really only appreciate them well in the gunsmith mode.
In the animation found in the leak, the weapon is only viewed from the sides, but further animations would theoretically be possible.
Why are players so excited about it? Players celebrate the announcement because in the shooters it’s also about customizing the appearance of their weapons according to their preferences.
On Twitter, @richmond_325 asked what was so great about the feature. He then received some responses:
- The user daniel44416257 wrote, for example: “It’s not a big deal, we just love to see things from old games like Modern Warfare Remastered come back.”
- For roguegamer248, it’s simply useful to check out details: “I enjoy inspecting weapons in games to admire the details you can give them.”
However, there are also critical voices. Some see the feature as a waste of the developers’ time (via reddit) or joke about the fact that it took almost a year to bring this relatively small change to the game.
