In CoD: Warzone and in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Season 3 has begun. As always, the season start is accompanied by an update, but not all important changes have been properly communicated to the players.
The Update 1.19 brought many meaningful but also controversial changes for the multiplayer of CoD MW and the in-house “Battle Royale” mode: Warzone. However, it seems almost traditional at Infinity Ward that not all changes are communicated officially.
But the watchful eyes of the community help to remedy this. The CoD expert TheXclusiveAce took a closer look at the game after the update and found 7 hidden changes. Among them is, among other things, a huge buff for a rarely used perk, combat against vehicles has become harder, and a helpful “Quality of Life” improvement.
The perk Alarmed is now really strong in Warzone
What has changed: The perk Alarmed is located in extra slot 2 and is described ingame as: “Your field of view pulses when enemies outside your field of vision see you.” In practice, the ability now causes a yellow glow on one side of your screen to indicate the exact direction of the hidden enemy if they are looking at you.

What did it look like before? Before Season 3 started, the entire edge of your screen lit up, but there was no indication of which direction you were being observed from.
That’s why the change is strong: This is particularly strong in Warzone, as many utilize a calmer playstyle and hide, wait, and observe everything. You will then know exactly which direction danger is lurking and can decide on attack or flight.
Ace says: “This is a massive, massive buff for Alarmed, because it’s a big difference knowing whether someone is aiming at you from somewhere. […] Now the perk gives a huge advantage.” (via YouTube).
If you want to remain secret and keep an eye on everything unnoticed, you can do so with another perk. By using Cold-Blooded from extra slot 1, you do not trigger an Alarmed alert.
Vehicles are harder to combat & more hidden adjustments in CoD: MW
That’s why vehicles are now even stronger: In Warzone, vehicles are considered one of the best weapons and a relatively safe means of transportation. Their only weakness was rocket launchers, as these would take the vehicle and its crew into the air with a clean hit.
The hidden change now causes SUVs and helicopters to be only disabled and unusable on impact, but no longer explode. While you can still relatively effectively deal with vehicles using RPGs, achieving a team wipe after a rocket was a very satisfying feeling.

According to Ace, this hidden change was probably introduced in preparation for Season 3, but only now discovered and properly investigated.
What you need to know about hidden changes:
- If the green blinking icons that indicate you have unlocked a new item, a business card, or weapon attachment annoy you, you can breathe a sigh of relief. Because in the main menu, you can now disable all notifications with the push of a button (L3 on PS4) without having to admire the new item first.
- A bug on the map “Khandor Hideout” that kept a door locked has been fixed. Now you can reach the center of the map faster or escape from there.
- The heartbeat sensor and the top perk Ghost are said to have problems in Season 3 or may have been secretly changed – we have examined this in a separate article.
- The strong weapons MP4 and MP7 are said to have received a stealth nerf. The expert cannot confirm this. In the multiplayer mode, the two SMGs were not changed; in Warzone, he has not yet been able to conduct more precise investigations.
- In Warzone, full metal jacket rounds or special ammunition rounds are now said to penetrate armor plates and immediately cause damage to health. This phenomenon is not yet fully clarified. However, we will keep you updated on MeinMMO.

What do you think of the changes? Can you explain why these partly really drastic adjustments do not appear in the patch notes?
