In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD: Warzone, 2 upcoming weapons have apparently been leaked, which should particularly please sniper fans.
CoD: Modern Warfare and Warzone regularly bring new weapons into the game. For example, in Season 4, there was a new sniper called Rytec AMR. A new sniper rifle was exactly what many fans had been wishing for since the release.
And now it looks like hobby snipers might soon have even more reason to be happy. Because in the data of Modern Warfare, hints of new precision firearms have been discovered.
By the way, in the mid-season update for Season 4, there was not only the new sniper, but also the largest adjustment wave for weapons since the release of CoD: MW.
Where does the info come from? The data miner BKTOOR reported on the find. He has already proven to be a reliable source multiple times with correct details about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone.
After the recent update, he has apparently discovered entries and hints about 2 potential new weapons while browsing the game data.
Which weapons were discovered? On one hand, he mentions entries and files regarding the weapon designation sn_romeo700, which he believes is likely referring to the classic sniper rifle Remington 700.
The R700 has been used in Modern Warfare 1 as well as Modern Warfare Remastered and was among the strongest sniper rifles there.
Additionally, BKTOOR posted another image showing the CheyTac M200 Intervention – another very popular sniper from the CoD series. This was used in Modern Warfare 2 and was regarded as one of the best quick-scope options.
However, the discovery of the Intervention is not entirely new; there had already been early hints about this sniper.
When could these weapons be introduced into the game? Officially, nothing is known yet. However, some believe that these could be new weapons from the upcoming Season 5. If that’s the case, Season 5 could be a true celebration for hobby snipers in Warzone as well as in traditional multiplayer.
However, it is unlikely that both snipers will be introduced at the same time. Presumably, in such a case, one will be delivered at the start and the other one halfway through the season.
