In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a player seems to have accidentally been handed a new, until now unknown weapon. Some consider it to be one of the new firearms from Season 4. What’s the story?
Mysterious weapon in CoD MW: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare brings new weapons every season and regularly expands players’ arsenals for traditional multiplayer as well as for Battle Royale CoD: Warzone.
So far, each season has introduced 3 new weapons – 2 announced in advance and 1 secret one. In the ongoing Season 3, all 3 new weapons are already in the game – the DMR SKS, the Renetti pistol, and the LMG Bruen Mk9.
However, a player has now stumbled upon a new weapon that is not officially in the game yet nor has been communicated by the developers.
What’s going on with the new weapon? Recently, Reddit user Igavemyhandhiv posted a video where his friend can play with the new weapon for a short time.
It is a submachine gun with the placeholder name “SM_CHARLIE9”. Judging by the appearance of the weapon model as well as the icon, this SMG seems to be based on the B&T APC9 by Brügger & Thomet.
The player had access to it randomly right at the spawn in the “Infected mode” on May 11. No tricks or glitches were involved.

What can the new weapon do? In the game, this version of the weapon had a 30-round magazine with 9mm rounds. It also had a very fast rate of fire, strong recoil, and an extremely short reload time. More is not currently known about it.
When will the weapon be available in the game? This is not known and many players are currently discussing it.
Some consider it possible that this could already be a new weapon from the upcoming Season 4 that was accidentally released too early.
Others, however, emphasize that this weapon has apparently been in the game since the release of Modern Warfare and has already appeared in some leaks – mistakenly referred to as Vector-MP. And indeed: it is the same weapon, as can be seen in the comparison images.
They suspect that it could be a weapon that was planned but then discarded for some reason. They point to the fact that most weapons in Modern Warfare are clearly distinct, but the APC9 would look very similar to the Striker 45 (already in the game) in terms of design.
Conversely, some still believe that the APC9 will find its way into the game – even if not necessarily in Season 4. Because it has a complete model with animations and makes a full impression. They find it rather unlikely that this resource would simply be “wasted”.
In short: How, when, and whether this weapon will come to the game is currently unknown. However, it wouldn’t be far-fetched if we saw it at some point in our arsenal – whether in Season 4 or at another time.
