A funny fail clip about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently celebrated by thousands of users on Reddit. Apparently, a skilled thermite throw backfires on the thrower – but in a way that one might not expect.
This is the clip in question: In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, most players are probably waiting for news about the upcoming Season 2. However, it’s not the new Season 2 that is causing a stir, but rather a funny clip on the discussion platform Reddit.
The video titled “That was not the desired outcome” comes from the user P00R-judgement and has received more than 11,000 upvotes in just one day. But why?
What exactly happened in the clip? The video shows a match of “Kill confirmed” on the popular map Shipment. Between the containers in the middle of the map, the player aims to throw a sticky thermite grenade and lands a perfect hit. After that, the fail unfolds and looks just hilariously funny.
The thrower turns away and heads in another direction, while the hit opponent disappears between the containers. One might think the scene is over.
However, just a few meters later, the thrower is caught up by his perfect thermite throw, as the player with the sticky grenade comes running towards him between the containers almost panicked, seemingly taking him down as a burning torch.

What do other players say: This brings lots of laughter and good vibes to many Reddit users. The fail is widely celebrated by the community, and funny remarks and comments pour in like
- “Hot, hot, heeeeeeeat”
- “Baby, you’re a firework” referencing the song by Katy Perry
- “Here, you dropped something”
- or “The Itchy and Scratchy Show” (from The Simpsons)
Some point out that it was likely a VTOL jet, a killstreak, that ultimately cost the thrower his life, rather than the human torch he created, but that doesn’t dampen the good mood surrounding the funny clip. The entire scene just seems hilariously funny – almost like it’s cut from a comedy show – and is therefore being celebrated fiercely.
