A possible date for the Battle Royale of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is March 10th, and it has become more likely again. Twitch ran a small Warzone advertisement, which immediately disappeared.
What is going on? In the early hours of March 9th, the streaming platform Twitch displayed a banner advertisement for Warzone, the possible Battle Royale of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
The image was briefly online on the Twitch homepage around 5 AM and disappeared as quickly as it appeared. However, the banner was saved and is now circulating on the internet, just like the video from a YouTuber, which shows the first snippets of gameplay.
Update 7:50 PM – The “Warzone” now finally has a release date and an official trailer. Launch is on March 10th.
What does it look like? The site “CoD Tracker”, which evaluates and prepares player data as part of the “Tracker Network”, published the image snippet on their homepage:
Is this real? There is a certain likelihood that a hobby designer has been at work here. However, the image looks very authentic, as a similar leaked image has been circulating on the internet for several weeks. It was even part of a court filing from Activision to reddit, requesting user data.
The foreground and background were slightly shifted, but the chances are high that this advertisement accidentally went online a bit too early. The collaboration with PlayStation is also evident and provides another hint at its authenticity.
The question of all questions – When is the Warzone coming? According to “CoD Tracker”, such ads in CoD mean that something will be announced soon. An announcement or even the release could happen within the next 48 hours, according to the site.
Weeks ago, an American news portal reported about a possible “Free to Play” release on March 10th. The date remains current and is now the last leaked date before the start of the next Season 3 set for early April.
Previously, many players were expecting a release on March 3rd. However, when we only got the Tomogunchi, some players argued. The mood is getting worse, and slowly some of the circulating information from the developers should be confirmed or denied. Otherwise, even the last wave of hype will be gone.
