Call of Duty: Modern Warfare released a backend update on February 26 and removed the fun but faulty “Infected Ground War”. Additionally, some minor annoying bugs have been fixed.
What has changed? After the larger Update 1.15, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare rolled out a small backend update on February 26 and fixed some annoying bugs, but also removed the fun oversized variant of the Infected mode “Giant Infection”.
Additionally, bugs in matches with “Call of Duty League” rules and the mysterious prompts to reset one’s rank to repair corrupted files have been removed.
XP exploit in Ground War and broken perk
What was wrong with the “Infected Ground War”? The fun mode “Infected” received an oversized variant with Update 1.15 and could be played in Ground War scale. Many more players participated than in regular Infected matches. We first have to do without the chaos, which sometimes reminds us of zombie hordes chasing the last tasty brains of humanity.
Apparently, the mode provided more XP than intended and was temporarily removed from the playlist for rework. “InternalExzos” said on reddit: “[…] I managed to survive with a friend and we didn’t get a single kill and still received just over 30,000 XP.[…].” Apparently, this was too much for the developers. However, the mode is expected to return after rework.
Why was “Fixing” reworked? The perk strengthened your health regeneration and had apparently been malfunctioning for a while when selected as a “Specialist perk”. In the “sweaty” post by the Redditor “-Stun-” you can see the effects of the bug:
Kills did not halve regeneration and the CoD soldier had long been indicated by “bloody” screen edges on his HUD to signal his own damage. The perk should now work properly again.
Regiments and rank reset cause trouble again
What was wrong with the regiments? Players apparently had occasional issues inviting new members to their groups. The regiments brought great new features to the game. For example, a Happy Hour that gives you double XP for one hour a day if you play with a regiment buddy. You can even choose the hour yourself.

However, so far the regiments had some problems. Initially, players could change the color of their nameplates, and for a day, showed all regiment tags [3 3]. Some players did not see this as a bug, but rather as a hint at the Warzone release.
Why does the rank reset bug keep recurring? Only the developers could tell us that. However, this rather nasty bug, which prompts us to delete our multiplayer progress of the current season, has been cropping up since Update 1.13.
However, the developers promised that the bug, even if you select “YES”, will not delete your progress. I myself received the message that my progress was “successfully” reset, but everything was as before.
What was wrong with the killstreaks? This change only affects matches you start with “Call of Duty League” rules. With the last update, the developers removed all killstreaks and some were still available. With the adjustments, killstreaks can no longer be used, and the developers are expecting a better competitive environment from this.
Are there still bugs that annoy you particularly? What should the developers address urgently? Or should they rather bring “Warzone” first?
