What is it about? With Season 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare received a cool new feature: regiments. This allows us to invite our friends into a group and go hunting for kills with a shared, colored “clan tag”. Additionally, MW grants regiments a selectable hour of double XP each day.
Unfortunately, the feature went live with bugs. With a little trick, enemies appeared as friends. The developers responded quickly and released a fix for the nasty glitch in record time.
With the update on February 19, the regiment tags were further “improved” because they weren’t functioning quite as intended. However, it seems this has made things worse now, as the tags are broken.
And what’s broken now? All regiment tags currently display the same thing. So instead of a cool, individual tag before their name, everyone who used such a tag now just shows [ 3 3 ]. Some players don’t even consider this a bug but a Hhint at the release of Battle Royale.
This is particularly embarrassing, as it is visible and noticeable for almost everyone. The regiments work otherwise as intended, but it is still a bit disappointing. However, it’s not as bad as the nasty exploit that has been causing trouble since Season 2.
What else was in the small update? Not only were the regiments revised, but the small patch also brought a few other changes:
- The “Jockworth” bug that could occur during firefight tournaments has been fixed
- A problem with the CoD caster mode has been resolved. Player counts were sometimes not displayed correctly.
- Point friendly: The perk sometimes had the abilities of the “Killstreak” perk. This has been fixed.
- A gunsmith exploit in CDL matches was removed.
The developers will continue to work on the regiment tags, but it’s not nice for now. Perhaps the players can overlook this thanks to the current playlist, as the playlist update was surprisingly well received.
