On January 4th, the last update before Season 2 went live, and during the ongoing last week of Season 1, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is particularly generous. Currently, Shoothouse 24/7 and Shipment 24/7 are modes in the playlist, and a massive XP event is kicking off.

Double XP sweetens the last week of Season 1
When does Season 2 start? We don’t know for sure yet. It is possible that the Season starts immediately with the end of Season 1, which would be on February 11 around 7 PM.
A teaser released yesterday on Twitter by “Call of Duty” shows the new operator “Ghost” and ends with the phrase “The War Rages On February 11”.
This could already be a clear hint at a continuation of something. However, the concrete and official statement from the developers that the Season starts on February 11 is still pending. The phrase may also mean something else and Season 2 could go live with a delay.
What does the last week of Season 1 bring us? The last week is packed! With the playlist update from Tuesday, February 4th, both full-throttle modes Shoothouse 24/7 and Shipment 24/7 began.
Several players have wished for both modes to be available simultaneously. As Shoothouse is slightly larger, it can be seen as a kind of “Shipment light”. Although there are still close-quarters battles, at least you don’t regularly spawn in the enemy’s line of fire.
Additionally, starting Wednesday, February 5th around 7 PM, a strong Double-XP event will commence, bringing together the 3 Double-XP modifiers for the first time since the release of Modern Warfare – XP, weapon XP, and “Battle Pass” XP.
So, the perfect week to play CoD? Absolutely! This week is well worth it in CoD MW. Not only do you have the choice between the two playlists which yield the most XP, but you also get Double-XP on everything.

Also for players who usually play in Hardcore mode, there’s a playlist that yields plenty of XP. So if you have something to finish in CoD MW, do it now. An event like this probably won’t come around again anytime soon.
Ghost is coming, but Battle Royale is uncertain
What content can we expect in Season 2? The developers remain silent on this and will probably only provide information shortly before the launch. Here you can find the information we currently have about Season 2.
A teaser on Twitter has now confirmed the new operator “Ghost”, but nothing more is known. Some claim to have seen the requested “CoD MW2” map Rust in the teaser, but we will see what comes.
We are also still waiting for updates or at least an official confirmation regarding the Battle Royale mode, indicating that something is being worked on. A release with Season 2 still seems possible, but it would now be a big surprise.
