In a community update, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (PS4, PC, Xbox One) provided a glimpse into the coming weeks. The developers revealed what they are currently working on and what will be included in the next patch.
Where does the information come from? Infinity Ward released a community update and correspondingly created a Trello board where they documented all the information.
The information revolves around upcoming features, as well as bugs currently affecting Modern Warfare. As players, you now have a good overview of the game’s future.
3 major new features are waiting for you
New slots for your loadouts: It was mentioned a few days ago and now we have confirmation: Modern Warfare will soon get more space for your created classes.
How many new slots will be added is still unknown. However, the fact is that you will soon be able to create and carry more of your own classes.
New mode for Gunfight: The Gunfight mode is expanding. While previously you could face off in 1v1 and 2-player teams, there will soon also be a mode for 3-player teams.
Tournaments in Gunfight are returning: In a beta version, tournaments in 2v2 were tested last November. These events seemingly went well with the developers, as they promise the return of the tournaments.
Before that, however, they want to fix bugs and add new rewards. After that, the Gunfight tournaments should return.
Infinity Ward aims to fix numerous bugs
In the community update, various bugs were also addressed that the developers now want to fix. Infinity Ward has not yet specified when exactly the fixes will come, but these bugs are being worked on:
- Issues with unlocking platinum skins
- Damascus and platinum skins flickering when aiming
- Player collisions
- Glitches where players can get under the map
Especially the player collisions are currently a contentious issue in Modern Warfare. It can happen that teammates push you into the line of fire and thus eliminate you.
Aiming with Damascus and platinum skins was also a controversial topic among players. They were frustrated that they had to play for a long time to obtain such a skin, only to have it significantly impact aiming.
Patch for CoD MW is expected next week
When can we expect a new patch? The update is likely to be released next week. Just a few days ago, Joe Cecot, co-design director at Infinity Ward, announced that they are already working on the update. So it shouldn’t take long.
There is now a first update in Modern Warfare. This fixes some annoying bugs:
