The developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have announced that a new patch will be released. They have not yet revealed what exactly it will include, but their Trello board allows for some speculation.
This is what the developers say about the patch: In a Community Update, Infinity Ward, the developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, spoke about upcoming changes. Some changes are apparently planned or already active:
- The current Season 1 of Modern Warfare has been extended until February 11.
- An event for double XP and double weapon XP is running until January 20.
- A dev blog from Cinematics Lead Jeff Negus is being launched.
- There is now a Trello board that can publicly show what the developers are working on. The board does not show everything, but some of the current things.
- A new patch is coming.

When will the patch be released? A specific date has not yet been announced. It was only mentioned that the patch should be released “next week” for all platforms, namely PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It is probably meant to be the week starting January 20.
Possible contents of the new patch
What will the patch bring? So far, it is still unclear what the new patch will include. There are several issues that are said to be addressed “in a future update.” However, this does not necessarily mean that the upcoming patch is meant.
However, there are some entries in the Trello board that are already marked as “to be fixed in a future update.” These include:
- The promised fix for the collision issue.
- A bug that allowed players to capture the hardpoint from the hotel in St. Petrograd.
- Exploits and graphics issues in Ground War.
- Problems in Domination matches where players could neither deal nor receive damage or interact with flags.
- The deadly bush in Port of Verdansk.
What else will be fixed? In addition, the developers have identified some maps that are still marked as “in progress.” This includes a problem with the platinum skin for the new assault rifle Ram-7 and some larger bugs in the coop mode that could lead to an unplanned end of the round.
Additionally, some issues with blueprints that did not display their base weapon will be fixed. However, you should avoid blueprints anyway, according to Benedict:
