For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the developers rolled out a hotfix yesterday, June 17. This changes a small detail in a new mode that, however, has a big impact.
What is this mode? “One in the Chamber” is a cult mode that has been in the CoD series for many years. In this mode, you only have one bullet, as the name suggests. This is immediately deadly.
In addition, you have 3 lives and receive a new bullet each time you die or take out an opponent. The soldier who remains standing at the end wins the match. You will find the mode among the multiplayer modes of Modern Warfare.
The mode was introduced with the playlist update on Tuesday, June 16. However, the new update for Modern Warfare has made a small change compared to earlier: Players started with a random weapon. This is now different.
Hotfix Changes Weapon Selection
What is changing? With the hotfix, there are no longer purely random weapons at the start of the round, but only pistols. This is more in line with the “One in the Chamber” mode that fans of Call of Duty have known from earlier times.
Additionally, the time has been adjusted in which you can still join after the start of a round. Once a round lasts longer than a minute, no new players will be assigned.
This was the problem: Due to the large differences between the weapon classes, matches played out quite differently and probably not necessarily better. Furthermore, it was not the mode that was so popular in earlier CoDs.
Now that only pistols are distributed again, the rounds are more similar, and players know in advance what they are getting into.
If you want to perform better in “One in the Chamber”, train your aiming skills with the expert’s aim training. This will help you hit opponents with just a single bullet.
If you play on console, you should properly set up the aim assist of your controller. This will greatly help you hit your opponents, as you cannot simply correct while firing continuously. With a little practice, you can certainly win several rounds for yourself.
