A curious video from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently causing laughter among thousands of players. The reason for this is the perfect integration of a song by global superstar Phil Collins.
Here’s what it’s about: The video is supposed to show how incredibly strong the riot shield is (via reddit). However, an ingenious reddit user has made a clip that has nearly 40,000 upvotes (as of June 22 at 15:30).
Player drums to Phil Collins’ worldwide hit
This is the video: In the clip, you see a player running around with the new Kali sticks trying to take out another soldier with a riot shield:
The opponent has the riot shield on his back and has laid down. The player with the Kali sticks comes running in and wants to beat him down.
He strikes repeatedly on the shield and it almost looks like he is drumming on it. That’s why the song “In The Air Tonight” by Phil Collins is playing in the background. Just when the famous drum solo begins, when almost every listener becomes an air drummer, the player pounds on the shield.
A happy ending also awaits the amateur drummer. After he unsuccessfully beat the shield with the Kali sticks, his character performs the execution animation and gets a kill.
By the way, the clip creator is not the one who executed this kill. The creator writes that he saw this video on reddit and after reading the comments there, he edited this video together.
How are viewers reacting to this? They celebrate the player’s perfect timing and the musical insert from the clip creator. Robin420 writes: “I watched this for 5 hours. So good.”
Others write things like “This is so great” or “Finally some good content!”
Are there more such clips? Curious videos are always popping up in Modern Warfare. Recently, a player scored an unintentional kill when he placed a claymore so well, that he was able to take out his opponent.
Another player stumbled upon a bug in Modern Warfare that causes already eliminated players to become thieves. He had his ammunition stolen while walking over a corpse. Although this bug does not seem to affect all players, this little error in Modern Warfare is certainly curious.
