Since the launch of Season 1 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, some players feel that something is wrong with the powerful shotgun version of the .357 revolver. A video now strengthens this suspicion. There seems to be issues with the powerful shotgun ammunition.
This powerful weapon version is about: The .357 revolver can be equipped as a pistol in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and is not inherently an overpowered weapon.
However, if you engage with this firearm and level it up, you can indeed build a very strong weapon out of it – specifically, one of the strongest shotguns in the game.
Because at weapon level 29, you unlock the so-called shotgun shot (Snake Shot) for the .357. This allows the revolver to be converted into an excellent shotgun solution for close quarters combat.
You can find out more about it here: The strongest shotgun in CoD Modern Warfare may be a pistol.
However, it seems that there are problems with it now.
What is wrong with the .357 revolver as a shotgun? In a popular Reddit thread that received over 26,000 upvotes in just 14 hours, user CloudYNWA expresses concern that something is wrong with the shotgun shot of the .357 lately.
It appears that it has a bigger issue. He presents the following video:
The clip shows the player firing at a wall with the shotgun revolver. It is noticeable that with the shotgun version of the .357, every second shot does not fire a full shot load, but apparently only a single pellet. This would make the weapon very unreliable in this modification – a powerful shotgun looks different.
Other Reddit users also report in the post that the weapon has been dealing inconsistent damage with shotgun shots for some time. Additionally, some players have tested the weapon on bots – irregularities in damage from shotgun shots have been noted there as well.
Many wonder if the single shot corresponds to a regular projectile from the .357 or only inflicts the damage of a single pellet. However, that is still not entirely clear.
Real issue or just a visual bug? This is currently puzzling numerous players. An official statement from the developers has not yet been made – it is therefore only based on observations from players.
Some users also emphasize that it could be a purely visual bug. Just because the hit of a single pellet is displayed does not automatically mean that only one pellet is fired or hits. Moreover, the hit effect would differ depending on the material composition.
However, many players feel that the weapon with shotgun shots actually alternates between a full shot load and a single shot. Tests with bots also indicate inconsistent damage.
By the way, in the Update 1.10 for the launch of Season 1, the .357 was nerfed. It is suspected that this phenomenon may have crept in there – whether deliberately or accidentally.
Is the .357 revolver still a powerful shotgun? Even after Update 1.10, you can still achieve something with the weapon as a shotgun in close range.
However, since some players report an inconsistent experience, you should currently rely on a regular shotgun for your loadout or refrain from using the shotgun ammunition with the .357 and carry it as a regular handgun instead.
Have you also recently noticed irregularities with the supposedly powerful shotgun revolver? By the way – the .357 is not the only unique weapon you can build:
