Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases another update today, Tuesday, November 12th, which fixes a few bugs but also continues to tweak the weapons. The 725 is back.
How is it going at CoD right now? The developers of CoD: Modern Warfare have been very busy in recent days, and have already done a lot since the release of their game, alongside new maps and updates.
However, reports of annoying bugs and imbalances in the game are increasing. A prominent example is the overpowered 725 shotgun, but also the loud footsteps.
Already in the previous patch, the unwanted 725 and the footsteps were adjusted and revised again with today’s update.
Patch 1.08 – Patch Notes in English
What do the patch notes contain? However, other imbalances were also smoothed out in the approximately 8 GB large update, here’s an overview:
Weapon Balancing
- Minor adjustment to the spread of assault rifles when shooting from the hip
- 725
- Range reduced
- M4
- More spread in hip fire
- Less headshot damage
- FAL
- Reduced recoil
- Faster zoom (ADS)
- EB-14
- Faster zoom (ADS)
Footstep Volumes
- Adjustment of footstep sound assignment
- Crouched walking, walking, jogging, and running have their own volume levels
- Previously, walking with sights and crouched walking were variable
- These footsteps could be louder if you moved faster due to perks
- Now the actions of crouched walking and walking with sights always have the volume of crouched walking
- These two speeds/volumes are suitable for sneaking

Challenges
- The menu and the actual progress of the challenges were sometimes not synchronized, and this has been revised.
- Not all synchronization errors could be fixed yet; the developers are still working on it.
- The error DEV ERROR 5476 was triggered by the challenges and has been fixed.
- The challenge “Achieve kills with a burst-fire weapon” was too inaccurate and has been improved.
Picadilly
- On the map, the spawn points were poorly positioned and have now been adjusted in two modes.
- TDM and Domination with new spawn points
- In Domination, a flag has also been moved.
- Flag B is now near the buses, rather than at the more central fountain.
In addition, the riot shield has been revised, which provided certain advantages in specific situations. Additionally, adjustments were made to increase stability and a bug related to the Overkill perk in the co-op mode Spec Ops was fixed. This perk can be very valuable.
Footsteps and 725 are being further revised
What was particularly important from this? The volume of footsteps and the powerful 725 have been a thorn in the side of many players. With this patch, these criticisms are being further addressed, and the developers are responding to the community’s concerns.
Infinity Ward publishes the complete patch notes in English on reddit.
The work is not yet done! There are still a few points that need some tweaking.
Do you think the developers will get the 725 under control? Or that at least sneaking works better now?
