Call of Duty: Modern Warfare allows you to build your own weapon setups. Some of these can be really strong, even if the base weapon is rather under the radar. We present you a really strong build for the Oden.
What kind of build is this? The build enhances the Oden and ensures that the assault rifle deals a lot of damage.
The Oden already has a lower rate of fire and higher damage than other assault rifles. This build further improves these characteristics.
The “OP Build” for the Oden
Here’s how to assemble the weapon: For the build, you need all five equipment slots that the gunsmith provides you for mods. Build the weapon as follows:
- Base weapon: Oden
- Muzzle: Silencer (Colossus)
- Barrel: Oden Factory 810 mm
- Stock: FTAC XL Elite Chassis
- Underbarrel: Tactical Foregrip
- Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
Instead of the underbarrel, you can also use perks like Extra: Fragile – Impair or ammunition: 30-round magazine. The latter further decreases your ADS speed, which is already a major drawback of the weapon.
With this build, you focus entirely on precision, damage, and range, but sacrifice mobility. Some attachments help you aim more accurately, but restrict your movement.
Which perks should I take? To complete the build, it’s best to choose the following perks and equipment:
- Secondary weapon: MP7 or 725 (with Overkill); X16; situational: Pila
- Blue perk: Overkill or Scavenger
- Red perk: Hardline
- Yellow perk: Amped (if Overkill was chosen), otherwise Battle Hardened
- Equipment: Semtex or Frag Grenade and Stim
- Field Upgrade: Munitions Box (with Overkill), otherwise Special Ammo Rounds
Strengths and weaknesses of the build
Here’s how the setup works: With this build, you can kill opponents at almost any range on any map with 3 body shots. A headshot even reduces the required hits to two.
Your strength lies at medium and medium to long distances. Since you don’t use a scope, hitting at greater ranges becomes harder and the Oden is less effective from there on.
The best multiplayer modes for the setup are tactical modes like Headquarters, Cyber Attack, and Search & Destroy. Medium and larger maps like Aniyah Palace, Euphrates Bridge, Grazhna Raid, and St. Petrograd are also ideal.

Here are your weaknesses: As strong as you are at your distance, you are weak at all others. The build is exceptionally slow, so you should definitely not rush. Leave that to teammates, whom you can then provide fire support.
As the Oden generally has low ammo and a small reserve magazine, your shots should count. Play carefully, use the mounting feature of the weapon, and guard an area rather than trying to take it by force.

Is the build worth it now?
How strong is the weapon: The Oden is strong in this build and outshines many assault rifles. However, due to the lack of all-round capabilities, it cannot compete with the M4A1 as the strongest weapon of its class.
Nonetheless, it changes your gameplay flow and offers a niche playstyle that you can use to surprise opponents. Hardly anyone knows this style and knows how to counter it, giving you the decisive advantage.
