Flashbangs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare can be deadly – at least with the right timing and a bit of luck. A great unfortunate player has recently experienced this spectacularly.
This kill is currently being celebrated: In Modern Warfare, players have a variety of deadly firearms at their disposal – just now, with the start of Season 1, two new weapons via the Battle Pass have been added.
However, flashbangs are actually classified as a non-lethal grenade in Call of Duty. While they can cause minimal physical damage (1 damage) if they hit an opponent directly, that is far from enough to seriously injure or kill an opponent.
But Redditor Papa_Swish claims to have experienced a whole new level of bad luck, which he promptly captured in a clip.
He was essentially killed by a flashbang – and this despite it not even hitting him directly.
However, he himself cannot really be angry about it and celebrated the enemy kill with his teammate – just like many other players did.
What exactly happened? The situation took place in a 2vs2 gunfight match. The teammate had already fallen, Papa_Swish was fighting alone and decided to throw a load of C4 across the map to his opponents.
Milliseconds after the throw, there was a big explosion, and now Papa_Swish was dead too. But what happened?
The opponent of Papa_Swish had thrown a flashbang shortly before his C4 throw, which collided exactly above Papa_Swish’s head with the C4 package just thrown.
The minimal damage from the grenade was evidently enough to set off the C4, sending Papa_Swish directly to the virtual beyond and deciding the gunfight match.
