In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, there is currently an annoying bug. It causes players to receive 0 experience points. Now the developers from Infinity Ward have spoken out about the XP bug.
What bug is it? Since December 25th, a bug has been affecting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This bug causes some players to stop making progress. It particularly affects experience points, from which players receive exactly 0 after the round.
This also impacts weapon camos and the battle pass level of Season 1.
Why is the bug doubly annoying? As if that weren’t enough, there is currently an event in CoD. This should provide players with double experience points with the new patch. However, double 0 is still 0. The boost runs until this evening at 7 PM, and a solution to the problem is not in sight.
This makes the bug tricky: However, reports about the bug are not uniform. The bug apparently occurs sporadically and cannot be clearly replicated: Some say it is a display error that resolved itself later – players then received the experience points after all.
Some are completely unaffected, while others are constantly haunted by it.
The developers speak out
Now the team from Call of Duty has become aware of the bug. Yesterday, Ashton Williams, Senior Communications Manager, spoke out on Reddit. She asked players for more information:
The team is “fishing around” to find the error.
It seems that Infinity Ward has no approach to why this bug occurs. Therefore, Williams asks players for their support.
They should post their gamer tag or PlayStation ID if they are affected.
