What are the new weapons all about? On December 3rd, Season 1 launched for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. As part of this, a variety of new content was introduced to the game – including 2 new weapons that can be obtained through the Battle Pass.
These include:
- the RAM-7 – a fully automatic assault rifle in bullpup design, modeled after the Israeli Tavor TAR-21.
- the Holger-26 – a light machine gun (LMG) based on the HK MG36 from Heckler & Koch. The MG features an integrated sight rail and a drum magazine for additional ammunition capacity.

How to unlock the 2 new weapons from the Season 1 Battle Pass of Modern Warfare – Here’s how
When exactly will these new weapons be available in the game? While the contents of Season 1 are gradually introduced and not all are released at once, you can chase after the two new weapons right at the beginning of the season.
They are part of the Battle Pass and since the launch of Season 1, it offers players a load of cosmetics and items.
By the way, what will happen to the two weapons after Season 1 – whether or how they can be unlocked then – is still not known.
Who can unlock the new weapons from Season 1? These 2 new weapons are introduced as part of the Battle Pass. The pass consists of a free and a premium reward track:
- Content from the free track is available to all players.
- Rewards from the premium track are reserved for buyers of the Battle Pass.
And both the RAM-7 and the Holger-26 are available in the free track. Therefore, they can be unlocked for free by all players – regardless of whether you purchase the Battle Pass or not.
What do you need to do for the new weapons? Basically, just one thing – play Modern Warfare diligently. Because the weapons are tied to specific ranks of the Battle Pass, which you level up by earning XP.
You earn this experience points by completing multiplayer or SpecOps matches (coop) and by completing certain challenges.
Here’s how to unlock the Holger-26: To unlock the new LMG Holger-26, you need to reach rank 15 in the Battle Pass. Then the new MG will be unlocked.
Here’s how to unlock the RAM-7: If you want the new assault rifle RAM-7, you need to fight your way up to rank 31 in the Battle Pass during Season 1.
Is there a faster way? Yes, there is. It is quite possible to play both new weapons right at the beginning of Season 1 – but this comes at a cost.
There will be an option to buy seasonal ranks – using CoD points (“Call of Duty” points). These can be purchased for real money or earned through the Battle Pass. A rank costs 150 CoD points, which is roughly equivalent to €1.50.
Without purchased level-ups, you can even save some money with the Battle Pass.
In addition, there will apparently be a bundle for 2,400 CoD points, which allows you to acquire the Battle Pass along with the immediate unlocking of the first 20 ranks.
This way, you would unlock the first new weapon, the Holger-26, immediately.
