During the campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, you will find 3 safes that require a specific combination. This secures helpful items in the missions and the achievement “Gentleman-Thief”. We will show you the locations and combinations on MeinMMO.
Every now and then, the campaign of Modern Warfare 2 slows down a bit and lets you crawl through levels full of enemies in stealth missions. In such phases, a total of 3 safes can be found:
In these safes, you will find useful items that will help you in the missions. Additionally, there is the achievement “Gentleman-Thief” if you have opened all safes. You can find the locations and combinations on MeinMMO.

CoD MW2: Safe Code 1 – Mission “El Sin Nombre”
What is the combination? 02-02-19
Where is the safe? The safe is in Diego’s bedroom. When you are on the ground floor, look for the large, round staircase. In front of the stairs, there is a sign indicating that you should not go this way.
- Take the 2nd door on the left at the top
- Keep to the right until the end of the corridor
- Eliminate the enemy on the left and walk along the balcony to the end
- Go right
- The next door on the left leads to Diego’s bedroom
- Near the bed, you will see a wardrobe with wooden doors
- Inside the wardrobe is the safe
What is in the safe? You will get a shotgun and armor.

CoD MW2: Safe Code 2 – Mission “Alone”
What is the combination? 10-10-80
Where is the safe? During the stealth mission “Alone”, you need to disarm a shotgun trap and you will be very close already. Shortly after, you open a door behind which there is a loud noise. A man falls through the door and you witness his final moments.
Run through the corridor and slightly to the right you will see a point to jump down – do not jump yet but turn left. The door at the end of the room is locked, but inside is the safe. Force the door open.
What is in the safe? A golden Desert Eagle with a silencer and a throwing knife.

CoD MW2: Safe Code 3 – Mission “Alone”
What is the combination? 37-60-80
Where is the safe? Very close to the first safe in the mission, shortly after the shotgun trap that you need to disarm. Jump down into the next section.
- Turn left and take an exit in that direction
- By a white car, you will find an entrance with the inscription “EL MAISTRO” right by the light
- Walk through the first room of the workshop
- Keep left in the second room – at the back left you will find the office with the safe
What is in the safe? A throwing knife and a crossbow.

The contents of the safes can give you a significant advantage in the missions. However, you often lose the opportunity to unlock certain other achievements, such as if you are not supposed to use a weapon.
